I am outraged by organizations whining to the United Nations about the unfairness of US elections. It is akin to complaining to Hell about sin! It is ridiculous in the extreme!
Have you people actually looked at the United Nations? I mean, HAVE YOU???
The whole accursed place is nothing more than a sandbox in which the dictators of the world come to play. And you want THEM to judge what's fair -- or not fair -- in a US election? I'd laugh, but frankly, it's too stupid to be a joke.
From an article at "The Hill" we learn this: "United Nations-affiliated election monitors from Europe and central Asia will be at polling places around the U.S. looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups, a concern raised by civil rights groups during a meeting this week. The intervention has drawn criticism from a prominent conservative-leaning group combating election fraud." Ah. You DID notice the phrase "... looking for voter suppression activities by conservative groups..." -- didn't you?
This REALLY says something about the panic mode of the liberals, does it not? I mean, they are obviously so frightened of the conservative movement in America that they have actually gone to the United Nations about us and are bringing in reinforcements from that scandalous organization to assist them in withstanding our conservative onslaught.
Again, I'd laugh -- but again, it is just SOOO stupid!
Now maybe the remainder of America will understand how we southerners felt when they brought in what we called "outside agitators" during the civil rights movement about fifty years ago. It aggravated the hell out of me then and it is aggravating me again today.
The article at "The Hill," written by Alexander Bolton, goes on to say the following: "Liberal-leaning civil rights groups met with representatives from the OSCE (The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) this week to raise their fears about what they say are systematic efforts to suppress minority voters likely to vote for President Obama.

Heck, at the rate we are piling up "observers" at the polls this election we will have so many people working at the polls that no one will have time to actually cast ballots! That's one possibility. (As ridiculous as it sounds.) The other is that we are going to have an election so screwed-up that the courts or the US House of Representatives will have to decide the next President of the United States.
Seems to me, the political left is tossing as much dust up into the air and as much sand into the machinery of the election as they possibly can. They intend to do everything they can to shade the election process in favor of their socialist/communist President. Even if it means global embarrassment for the country they claim they love.
I must tell you, dear reader, that really creates a warm, cuddly, feeling inside this scribe, for my fellow citizens who have chosen the leftist political agenda as their ideology. In the interest of full disclosure, allow me to amend that "warm and cuddly" description to "vile and nauseous -- tending toward rage!"
What we have here is the democrats pulling out all the stops by employing their hordes of "useful Idiots" to try and save the behind of their messiah, Obama, on November 6th. It is nothing short of disgraceful!
Look, dear reader, this is more evidence of just how split, how divided, America actually is. I will go a bit farther, too, and predict that it is going to get a whole lot worse in the years immediately before us. In fact, if I live long enough, I fully expect to see another full-blown civil war within this country. We are very nearly displaying all the characteristics necessary for such a deadly conflict even now.
We often see, today, reports of the preparations much of the citizenry is making for such a conflict and we see, too, the reports of the government's preparations for a mass upheaval among the citizens, namely armed conflict in the streets of America.
The type of activities described by The Hill's article will have the effect of tossing gasoline on a smoldering fire.
The country is a powder keg, as I write, and the election in a few days could well be a lighted fuse. There is a better than even chance that if Obama wins, fifty percent of the country will dig-in prepared to defend what's left of our freedom. If Romney wins, we have been assured the "Obamaites" intend to take to the streets in nationwide riots and civil disobedience.
Problem is -- the political right is in no mood for such antics. It would be a very bad mistake to expect them to sit back and allow their country to be set aflame by hordes of mindless, socialist, anarchists bent on the destruction of the USA.
Complaining to a rogue organization such as the UN does nothing more than exacerbate the situation and move us closer to citizen on citizen violence in America.
These "Outside Agitators" from the United Nations could well be the straw that places the camel in traction. We would all do well to remember that wars have been fought over much less.
I sense trouble ahead, serious trouble, that I am very concerned will not be settled short of violence.

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: I think it's unequivocal, Romney won. And he didn't just win tactically, but strategically. Strategically, all he needed to do is basically draw. He needed to continue the momentum he's had since the first debate, and this will continue it. Tactically, he simply had to get up there and show that he's a competent man, somebody who you could trust as commander in chief, a who knows every area of the globe and he gave interesting extra details, like the Haqqani network, which gave the impression he knows what he's talking about. But there is a third level here, and that is what actually happened in the debate.

You don't have to liberate the Nazi Death Camps, capping months of brutal fighting and desperate marching through the dirt roads of Europe.
You don't have to withstand a surprise attack by the Chinese 'People's Volunteer Army', fighting to hold the line in 35°-below-zero temperatures for days on end near the Chosin Reservoir.
You don't have to defend the city of Huế from a surprise attack by Viet Cong and PAVN regulars, fighting block-to-block as the entire country is set afire by the Tet Offensive.
You don't have to race across the desert, waiting for a chemical attack or a Scud missile to hit, baking in 130° temperatures, so that you can expel Saddam Hussein's Republican Guard from Kuwait.
You don't have to patrol a patch of hard-scrabble earth in Aghanistan or Iraq, waiting for the inevitable IED by the side of the road -- or signs that you've rolled right into an ambush by heavily-armed 'insurgents' equipped with Iranian RPGs.
You don't have to do any of those things. You just have to vote in November. You just have to take the time to rally your neighbors, your family members and your co-workers to vote for candidates who believe in the Constitution. You must marshal voters who will reject the out-of-control, free-spending government that has brought our country to the edge of bankruptcy.
Because if the Constitution doesn't mean anything, if all of the founders' sacrifices went for naught, if all of those American heroes who fought and bled and died for the flag mean nothing, if all your parents and grandparents gave you doesn't amount to a hill of beans, well, then our generation will be forever known as the weak-willed group that let the American dream slip from our fingers.
And we will be known forever as the generation that allowed American exceptionalism to be stolen from us by a radical leftist from San Francisco, a crooked, power-hungry weasel of a man from Nevada, and an Alinsky-trained community organizer who rose to the presidency without qualifications or even so much as a background check by the media.
You don't have to bleed for your country. All you have to do is rally our forces to vote in November. That is what we can do and that is what we must do to preserve this Republic for future generations.

Just two reasons why the USA does not need the United Nations
There are more than two reasons but hitting these two now.

First off we have the U.N. 'Special Rapporteur on Counter-Terrorism and Human Rights' Ben Emmerson warning Americans NOT to elect Mitt Romney.
Why? Romney might be a 'democratic mandate for torture.'
"The UN’s Ben Emmerson was referring to Romney’s refusal to rule out the use of waterboarding in interrogating terror detainees, a practice that President Barack Obama has ended.
Colin Perkel of The Canadian Press reported Emmerson’s remarks from a symposium in Toronto on the impact of 9/11 on human rights:
"The re-introduction of torture under a Romney administration would significantly increase the threat levels to (Americans) at home and abroad," Emmerson said.
"Such a policy, if adopted, would expose the American people to risks the Obama administration is not currently exposing them to."
Not as dangerous as the United Nations has become to America's freedom and liberty as stated in our Constitution. The founding fathers knew what they were doing when they wrote our Constitution.
What's the problem with the above policy should Romney win the election?
I have no problem with using whatever means are required to obtain information from terrorists when national security is at stake.
If that means waterboarding, insects in a box, creating 'jinns', 24 hour loud rock and roll, then this is what needs to be done.

Days ago we told our readers of reports that the Obama administration was in secret back-channel negotiations with Iran to try to convince Iran to temporarily discontinue their nuclear fuel enrichment program. This would allow the Obama team to boast that THEY had been able to make a "deal" with Iran to discontinue their endeavor for a nuclear weapon.
In turn, the sanctions on Iran would be lessened, or dropped altogether. That was unclear at the time and remains so at this writing.
Of course, the Obama team emphatically denied such back-channel negotiations were going on. But, frankly, they lie so often that we simply didn't believe them.
So, comes the report in the bastion of print liberalism, the New York Times, that, indeed, such talks were held. On Monday, October 22nd, Obama meets Romney for their final debate before the election. This debate will be on the topic "foreign policy."
If it is even possible, Obama is in even worse shape on foreign policy than he is on the economy here at home. He badly needs something to bring to the table for that debate Monday.
All the previous weekend, I waited for news to break that a drone attack has killed the perpetrators of the Libyan consulate murders, but as of this writing -- nothing. Barring that, I had expected the story of the direct talks with Iran would break. It did.
If you read the entire article from the New York Times link we supplied above you will learn there is a bit of a problem for the Obama Team so far as the results of the talks is concerned. It seems the Iranians want to wait until AFTER the election and talk THEN to whomever the President is AFTER January 20th, 2013! Slick, huh?
Actually, there is another problem with the outcome of those talks, so far. It would seem Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, has not agreed to any of this. We can't confirm, nor deny, what Khamenei has, or has not, agreed to, if anything.
This whole thing seems about to blow up in Obama's face, anyway. So the Obama Team is denying it ever happened -- or IS happening. They have spun such a web of lies that it is just impossible to take them seriously, anymore.
What is, however, becoming clear, little by little, is that the American electorate is fed up with their treatment by the Obama administration. Obama's condescension toward the American proletariat has finally turned on him and he now senses the bitterness the Americans feel toward him and his cadre of socialist/communist minions.
Over the past few weeks, millions of Americans have had the scales fall from their eyes as they have seen what an "empty suit" Obama really is.
When he walked onto the stage of the first debate confident that his silkened voice and golden tonsils would decimate Mr. Romney, and wipe clear of his path all before him, it became clear that he was a narcissistic man, stuck on himself, supremely confident in his own ability to conquer all, and -- totally WRONG! He became instantly transparent to the masses and only those who would not allow themselves to see the did not see it.
There is a reason the old snake oil salesmen of an earlier era never visited the same market twice. They had been "seen through." Today we say they have become transparent -- you know, like Obama.
Only amateurs would not have foreseen a blow-back from the secret Iranian talks. Only amateurs would not have considered the high probability that the Iranians would use any direct talks as a stalling tactic to allow them time to continue -- and possibly complete -- their efforts at acquiring an atomic bomb while, at the same time, forestalling Israel from bombing them back to the stone age.
Only amateurs believe there can be meaningful negotiations with a bunch of fanatics pumped-up by religious zeal who are intent on destroying the world, as we know it, and reshaping it as an Islamic Caliphate (Kingdom) where Shariah Law prevails globally.
It is one thing to negotiate with sane people -- quite another to try to negotiate with religious zealots out to slit your throat -- and the throats of your family -- all because you will not submit to THEIR god.
There is still a week and a half to go before the month of October is past. There is still time for Obama to pull a rabbit out of his hat. But, I now believe the time has past for the American electorate to see an October surprise as anything other than a cheap political trick, unworthy of the Office of the President of the United States.

When he walked onto the stage of the first debate confident that his silkened voice and golden tonsils would decimate Mr. Romney, and wipe clear of his path all before him, it became clear that he was a narcissistic man, stuck on himself, supremely confident in his own ability to conquer all, and -- totally WRONG! He became instantly transparent to the masses and only those who would not allow themselves to see the did not see it.
There is a reason the old snake oil salesmen of an earlier era never visited the same market twice. They had been "seen through." Today we say they have become transparent -- you know, like Obama.
Only amateurs would not have foreseen a blow-back from the secret Iranian talks. Only amateurs would not have considered the high probability that the Iranians would use any direct talks as a stalling tactic to allow them time to continue -- and possibly complete -- their efforts at acquiring an atomic bomb while, at the same time, forestalling Israel from bombing them back to the stone age.
Only amateurs believe there can be meaningful negotiations with a bunch of fanatics pumped-up by religious zeal who are intent on destroying the world, as we know it, and reshaping it as an Islamic Caliphate (Kingdom) where Shariah Law prevails globally.
It is one thing to negotiate with sane people -- quite another to try to negotiate with religious zealots out to slit your throat -- and the throats of your family -- all because you will not submit to THEIR god.
There is still a week and a half to go before the month of October is past. There is still time for Obama to pull a rabbit out of his hat. But, I now believe the time has past for the American electorate to see an October surprise as anything other than a cheap political trick, unworthy of the Office of the President of the United States.

It now appears, however, that we were wrong; incredibly, even Al Qaeda itself, or, at the very least, its ideological allies, are regarded by the administration as all right to appease and engage (align with), as shown by the deeply disturbing information that is surfacing in the aftermath of the … September 11... attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. The entire affair calls … cries out … for a Congressional investigation.
The day after the big Obama-Romney debate, as media and politicians were engaging in the usual after-action assessment frenzy, some of the most important issues surrounding the September 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, remain unaddressed.
While it clearly matters (a lot) if and when the President told the truth to the American public about the terrorist nature of that attack and why the Department of State refused repeated pleas from its own diplomats in Libya for more and better security, the deeper, unaddressed issue is about the relationship of the U.S. government, Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the U.S. diplomatic mission in Libya with Al Qaeda.
During the 2011 Libyan revolt against Muammar Qaddafi, reckless U.S. policy flung American forces and money into the conflict on the side of the rebels, who were known at the time to include Al Qaeda elements. Previously the number two official at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, Christopher Stevens was named as the official U.S. liaison to the Libyan opposition in March, 2011.
Ambassador Authorized to Aid Al Qaeda Sympathizers
Stevens was tasked with helping to coordinate U.S. assistance to the rebels, whose top military commander, Abdelhakim Belhadj, was the leader of the Al Qaeda affiliate, the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG). That means that Stevens was authorized by the U.S. Department of State and the Obama administration to aid and abet individuals and groups that were, at a minimum, allied ideologically with Al Qaeda, the jihadist terrorist organization that attacked the homeland on the first 9/11, the one that's not supposed to exist anymore after the killing of its leader, Osama bin Laden, on May 2, 2012.
Although Belhadj reportedly now has moved on to Syria to help lead the fight against the Assad regime being waged by the Syrian Free Army (SFA), other Libyan fighters, who were formerly members of his LIFG and other Al Qaeda affiliates formed a new terror militia in Libya (and elsewhere) called Ansar al-Shariah (Supporters of Sharia/Islamic Law).
According to an August, 2012 report from the Library of Congress and the Kronos organization, "Al-Qaeda in Libya: A Profile," Ansar al-Shariah is an Al Qaeda franchise operation, established in Libya with the assistance of senior Al Qaeda operatives dispatched from Pakistan specifically to supervise the set up of a new clandestine Al Qaeda network in Libya that would refrain from using the Al Qaeda name.
The Derna, Libya Ansar al-Shariah cell is led by a former GITMO detainee named Sufian Ben Qhumu. The September 11, 2012 attack on the Benghazi consulate compound that killed Ambassador Stevens, his staffer Sean Smith and the two Navy SEALs was directed and led by Ansar al-Shariah.
Unanswered, Unasked Questions
One of the key unanswered, even unasked, questions about the U.S. and Ambassador Stevens relationship with Abdelhakim Belhadj concerns not so much the 2011 period of the Libyan revolt, but rather what followed. Was Ambassador Stevens still in touch with Belhadj and/or other Al Qaeda-linked figures even after Belhadj traveled to Istanbul, Turkey, in November, 2011 to make contact with the Syrian Free Army?
According to August, 2012 reports leaked to the media, sometime earlier in 2012, President Obama signed an intelligence finding to permit the CIA and other US government agencies to provide support to the Syrian rebels, whose ranks are reported to be dominated by Al Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood and other jihadist fighters who already are supported by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other jihadist regimes. Was Belhadj a conduit for U.S. support, perhaps via Turkey?
It might be recalled that, according to the Department of State's transcript of a October 9, 2012 telephone conference call held to brief reporters on what happened in Benghazi, the final meeting that Ambassador Stevens held the night of September 11, 2012 before the attack began was with a Turkish diplomat.
Mysterious Meeting in AQ Territory
Was that the meeting that was so important that the ambassador felt compelled to slip into Al Qaeda-held Benghazi on the anniversary of the original 9/11 attacks, knowing that Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri had called for revenge for the killing of his Libyan deputy, Abu Yahya al-Libi, concerned that he might have been on an Al Qaeda hit list and fully aware that he was terribly exposed with completely inadequate security? Was Ambassador Stevens directing a weapons pipeline from Libya to the Syrian rebels with Turkish assistance?
As noted by at least one observant blogger, two buildings appear on the overhead image of the Benghazi consular compound that may be viewed behind State Department official Charlene Lamb during her October 10, 2012 Congressional testimony but were not mentioned at all in the October 9, 2012 briefing mentioned above. Might these two warehouse-like buildings be storage facilities for Libyan weapons either bought back or otherwise collected prior to onward shipment?
The New York Times reported in July, 2012 that CIA officers were operating out of southern Turkey to help channel weapons to fighters supposedly not allied with Al Qaeda or other terrorist groups. In a October 14 piece, though, the Times asserted flatly that "Most of the arms shipped at the behest of Saudi Arabia and Qatar to supply Syrian rebel groups fighting the government of Bashar al-Assad are going to hard-line Islamic jihadists, and not the more secular opposition groups…" And while U.S. officials continue to stick to claims that they are not providing arms directly to the Syrian rebels, but only channeling weapons that come from Saudi Arabia and Qatar, reports that those rebels now have surface-to-air missiles call to mind the thousands of such weapons looted from Muammar Qaddafi's stockpiles during and after the revolt that ousted him in October 2011.
Surface-to-Air Missiles
On October 17, 2012, Reuters reported that the Syrian rebels had acquired surface-to-air missiles, forcing the Syrian government air force to conduct bombings from higher altitudes. An August, 2012 video posted online purports to show a Syrian government helicopter hit with an anti-aircraft missile, on fire and spiraling to the ground, where it exploded into a fireball.
Many questions remain about what happened in Benghazi that night, not least of which is why Belhadj and Ansar al-Shariah would turn on Stevens, who had been their staunch if naïve ally, when his killing in the course of the attack on the consulate likely would end any weapons supply to the Syrian rebels he might have been directing.
Was marking the 9/11 date with revenge for the death of al-Libi more important in the eyes of Al Qaeda than the preservation of this particular weapons source? Were there weapons in those two buildings on September 11, 2012 and were they looted that night? Had Stevens and/or the U.S. somehow failed to come through with an understood commitment of some kind?
In any case, false information about the 9/11 attack in Benghazi being the fault of an online video that seems to have originated with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) James Clapper (perhaps with the collaboration of CIA Director David Petraeus) was put out and repeated by senior administration officials for days following the attack.
"[F]alse information was either knowingly disseminated or was directed to be put out by senior policy officials for political reasons," says Bill Gertz, citing intelligence officials. Some of those alleged "political reasons" may have had to do with ridiculous claims about the demise of Al Qaeda and the false promises of an "Arab Spring," but others may be more deeply buried in an Al Qaeda-linked weapons supply line that was never supposed to become public.

On Thursday, the Senate Budget Committee released a startling welfare spending report based on a new Congressional Research Study. According to the report in 2011 the United States spent $1.028 trillion dollars on welfare, which is more than the states and federal government spent on Social Security, Non-Military Defense or Medicare. The federal spending on welfare entitlements now accounts for one fifth of the federal budget and consumes over 5% of the GDP. This is almost a 30% spending increase since the start of the Obama Administration. The CRS report focused on over 80 benefit programs for low-income families including food stamps, low incomes housing, cash assistance, energy assistance and tax credits for low income families.

A lesson America seems not to have learned

As we try to sort through all the muck of a presidential campaign and finally decide who we want the next Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces to be, I think we need, I mean REALLY NEED, to pause a moment and reflect back to this same week fifty years ago.
For nearly two weeks, 13 days to be exact, the USA held its breath. Load noises shook us. Everyone watched the skies while convoys of military trucks with troops and war fighting materiel moved, day and night, east and south. Mobile radar units were hastily assembled on Florida beaches and the shorelines of other southeastern and Gulf Coast states. Mobile missile batteries were hastily set-up, laid in, and manned -- ready for whatever was coming from the south.
US Military Reserve Units were placed on alert -- as was the National Guard.
And then -- we waited ... and prayed ... and waited.
A U-2 spy plane had taken photos over Cuba that, upon being analyzed on October 15th, 1962, showed, unmistakably, that the Soviet Union was building medium-range missile sites on that island just 90 miles off our southern shore.
One week later, our young President, John F. Kennedy, went before the people of the nation, indeed, the world, and announced he was ordering a naval “quarantine” of Cuba the intent of which was to bring to a halt Soviet ships transporting offensive weapons to that island.
President Kennedy left no doubt that America was prepared to go to war -- right then -- to stop what he said was a: “clandestine, reckless, and provocative threat to world peace.”
Living, as I was at that time, just a few short miles from one of the Soviet Unions major-city targets along the US eastern seaboard, and having been trained by the US Army for handling irradiated refugees from a targeted city, I already knew the horror to expect. (For those of you who do not know, believe me, the horror is beyond anything you can imagine.)
In the evenings, every eye was focused on TV screens -- at 6:30 PM -- to get the latest news. We watched film of US aircraft flying low over soviet ships headed for Cuba with long tubular objects covered by tarps lashed to their upper decks. There was no doubt what those "tubes" were. We could only guess at what was below decks. We watched as those ships did not change course but continued their determined trek to Cuba.
We knew a flotilla of US warships were setting up a cordon around Cuba and if those soviet ships did not turn back they would be stopped. If they offered resistance they would be blown out of the water. And there WOULD be war -- nuclear war.
What is not commonly known is -- there was a near military coup in the US over this crisis. The military wanted, badly, to invade Cuba. Kennedy said no -- and would not budge. Some say the US actually came closer to a coup in which the President was removed from power by the US military than we did an attack by the Soviets. President Kennedy actually fired Joint Chiefs Chairman General Lyman Lemnitzer when he continued to push for a Cuban Invasion. For the most part, the public had no knowledge of the drama playing out behind the scenes between the Pentagon and the White House.
There are those today who believe the assassination of Kennedy was pay back for the bungled Bay of Pigs invasion, the foiled plans of the military and intelligence communities, and especially the refusal to invade during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Robert Kennedy, the President's brother, in behind the scenes negotiations with Nikita Khrushchev, the Soviet leader at the time, made sure Khrushchev knew about the possible coup to remove his brother John from office. Khrushchev knew that a president backed by the military would insure war with America and that was the last thing Khrushchev wanted.
A deal was quickly struck. The Soviets would remove the missiles in Cuba and the US would not invade Cuba and would remove some missiles in Turkey.
Many believe, as do I, that it was this recklessness on the part of Khrushchev that cost him his job soon afterwards.
Here's one of the lessons America should have learned from this near fatal confrontation. The Soviets had come to believe that Kennedy was a weak President. Khrushchev, with his missiles in Cuba, sought to tweak the tiger's whiskers. He had no intention of sparking a war. His intention was to enhance his own image back home.
It backfired. Khrushchev lost his job and Kennedy MAY have lost his life.
America can never afford to appear weak. EVER. As President Reagan said -- we have never been attacked because we were too strong.
Unfortunately, we have a President in power today who is projecting the unmistakable signal of a weak President. All one has to do is look around the world at the mischief the lack of strong leadership from the US President during the last four years has allowed.
The old expression: "When the cat's away, the mice will play" is certainly apropos. Today the big cat has slunk away and the rats are on the loose.
I offer this today for you to consider as we approach election day. America, indeed, the world, must have strong leadership. A weak US President is an invitation to disaster. Remember the Carter administration? Well, now the Obama administration has been added to that list.
America's enemies are on the rise. We need a President with steel in his spine who will go toe to toe with them and not blink. We do NOT need a "flexible" President. Flexibility gets you "rolled!"
Remember this when you go to the polls November 6th.
