Right, Wing-Nut!: Props To CBC !
...that's Conservative Blogs Central, an aggregator of some of the lesser-read conservative sites, which perhaps don't get the readership or linkage they deserve. They've kept me up on the masthead as the "featured blog" for the entire month of September, which, not coincidentally, has turned out to be a good month for this blog - my third highest ever in terms of visits. And while a blogger cannot complain when he has been linked by the likes of Legal Insurrection, The Other McCain, and Michelle Malkin (but alas, never an Insta-lanche!), every mention helps. And my Sitemeter certainly indicated that CBC directed some nice traffic here on a daily basis.
Give them a visit (linked above, and perma-linked on the right) and click through to some of their featured blogs. You may be surprised how widely dispersed the talent is out there...

SFC Speer's Killer Leaves Gitmo (Thomas Joscelyn/Weekly Standard)
Gun Rights Policy Conference Review
The Conspiracy Of The Lawless II.
Barack Hussein Obama is an evil man. Look beneath the false smile and ingratiating words and there’s rot and corruption seething away just under the surface. This is an extreme left-wing radical, inculcated from birth with ultra radical memes. Why be surprised by a snake when it behaves like a snake?

There are some disturbing facts out there that seem to be getting ignored in all the Lame Stream Media’s hype, hoopla and misdirection. In the first part of this article, published last week, I mentioned Janet (the Mustache) Napolitano. Her ‘Homeland Security’ has set new standards for intrusive deviance and malfeasance in office… while ‘securing’ absolutely nothing. Three hundred and fifty-one or more Homeland Security ‘officers’ dismissed for theft. Thuggish behavior, more in line with Adolf Hitler’s ‘Brown Shirts’ than an American agency, are the rule rather than the exception.
The contempt with which the American citizen is held is obvious to even the most casual observer. This is a definite reflection of the attitude of the leadership of the regime in Washington from the very highest level, starting with MaoBama himself. ‘Homeland Security’ is beginning to spread its poisons into mainstream America in ways that are far more reminiscent of the feared German Geheime Staatspolizei (or Gestapo) or, more recently, the East German Stasi… Random stops of law-abiding American citizens at train stations, bus stops and reportedly along our nation’s highways.
Recently, ‘Homeland Security’ showed up at a Mitt Romney rally. Screening for terrorists or a not-too-subtle intimidation tactic? Yet any person of obvious middle-eastern extraction will have them cowed and wagging their little stumps of tails like puppies, to ingratiate themselves while extolling the virtues of multiculturalism.
Has anyone, anyone at all, in our vaunted (in their own minds) Republican leadership bothered to question why civilian agencies require seven hundred and fifty million rounds of hollow point .40 caliber ammunition? To put that figure in perspective, US Forces expended some five billion rounds of small arms ammo in the entire war in Vietnam. That was in mostly ‘heavy’ combat in a period of eight and a half years. So what are US civilian agencies, who have as a rule little or no small arms training, going to do with 750 million rounds of hollow point ammo, if not kill Americans? Are they going to repel boarders at our national borders?
Add this uncomfortable fact. Barack Hussein Obama has steadily been garnering powers to himself which are not granted to the president by the Constitution of the United States. Is this because he fears the real will of the American people? We’ve seen the increasing reports of massive intent to commit voter fraud, from sources all over the country. What if that’s not enough? Will MaoBama declare a national emergency on some pretext and martial law to follow?
One of our affiliates is ‘Back To Basics’, an excellent conservative blog site. One of the regular writers there that I enjoy is Alan Caruba. His articles are well-researched and hard-hitting. I’m always proud and gratified to see my articles up there with writers of his caliber. He stated in an article he wrote recently (Sept 19, 2012) that America was being prepped for martial law by the least law-abiding president in our nation’s history. The implications are plain… martial law! The Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights, the rule of law… all gone in a heartbeat, by the tyrant we all saw coming.
Alan states at the end of his article that Americans should march on Washington, should the unthinkable occur, and demand the removal of the lawless one and his entire cabal. Alan, you’re dead on and I couldn’t agree more heartily.
‘Live free or die’ comes to mind.

School Lunches: The Food Fight Heard 'Round The World ... J. D. Longstreet
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
************
It would be laughable -- if our school kids weren't hungry!
By now, most everyone who pays attention, is aware of how our government, Big Nanny, has screwed-up school lunches so badly that our kids either won't eat the stuff or, they DO eat it and -- remain hungry.
This is just more evidence of what happens when the government takes an active hand in "helping" Americans.
Once again, I repeat my plea to the UIS government: "For God's sake -- stop helping us!"
ABC News reports the following: "School lunch trays are a bit lighter this year after Congress-approved calorie limits on school lunches went into effect in August. The new regulations, which were championed by First Lady Michelle Obama as part of her "Let's Move" campaign to fight childhood obesity, have inspired protests and even a video parody from students who claim the reduced lunches are making them go hungry." SOURCE: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/hungry-kids-grumble-healthy-school-lunches/story?id=17324285#.UGRYI66jg5vhttp://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/hungry-kids-grumble-healthy-school-lunches/story?id=17324285#.UGRYI66jg5v
When you actually consider what the government is insisting be served our growing kids, even a simple-minded idiot can see why the kids are hungry.
Consider this -- also for the same report at ABC News: "Under the new regulations, cafeterias are required to serve twice as many fruits and vegetables while limiting proteins and carbohydrates. For an average high school student, that means two baked fish nuggets, a cup of vegetables, half a cup of mashed potatoes, one whole grain roll and 8 ounces of fat free milk is the fuel that served to get them through their last four hours of classes." SOURCE: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS/hungry-kids-grumble-healthy-school-lunches/story?id=17324285#.UGRYI66jg5v
Much, if not most, of what our school kids are being served in the school cafeterias is going straight from the food line to the garbage cans. They are not eating it. It is estimated that waste from school cafeterias has doubled since the new school lunch guidelines have taken effect.
So -- we wind up with hungry kids. Kids who DO eat it are hungry. Kids who DO NOT eat it are hungry. That 750 to 850 calories is simply not enough calories for growing kids. At best, it is a subsistence diet... just enough to keep one alive and functioning. School athletes are finding that "functioning" on the athletic field on that subsistence diet is near impossible.
This is a typical SNAFU of the US government -- and it was totally predictable. (These new guidelines were endorsed by First Lady Michelle Obama and the democrat Congress back in 2010)
"Our kids are obese," they cry! Not so cussed fast here! Have YOU taken a look at the government standards concerning who is obese and who is not? You ought to do that before deciding you or your children are obese. You MAY just learn that what the government defines as obese, may not jive, at all, with what YOU define as obese. Again, we are allowing the government into our lives -- this time to decide who is fat and who is not fat.
Yeah, some of our kids ARE fat. But allow me to inquire of the parents of those "fat" kids -- are they sitting on their butts playing video games, or, are they outside hooping and hollering and running around like the little hellions they are supposed to be?
Heck, Mom, had to nearly send out search parties to find my brother and me when it was time to come inside at dusk. After dark, in the summer months, we'd be outside, with mason jars in hand, chasing lightening bugs. We were well-fed, and believe me, we were not obese.
Growing kids need fuel -- even "fat" growing kids. If I had children in school these days, they would be packing those brown paper bags to school with the food I want them to eat. (Hey, maybe it's time to bring back the old tin lunch boxes with Roy Rogers and Trigger on them, huh?)
What we have here, dear reader, is just more evidence of the over reaching of the federal government. Soon, government agents will be entering our homes, unbidden, to check our pantry shelves for government approved foods and our medicine cabinets for government approved drugs -- and to be absolutely certain that birth control pills and the morning after pills are stocked in each and every family's medicine cabinet. (Oh, they ALREADY have the authority to do that -- under the terms of Obamacare. Now that the Democrats passed the bill, you can read it!)
But don't worry. Things are going to get worse -- a LOT worse.
The food fight in our nation's school cafeteria is just an opening skirmish. Wait 'til the really "BIG STUFF" hits the fan. In the not too distant future we are going to see irate Americans in the streets raising hell over the government's take-over of their lives. But, I'm afraid it will be entirely too late.
Look. Those of us out here in the conservative hinterlands have been shouting this was coming for years, even decades. We were mocked and told to sit down and shut-up. But don't worry, soon we will be FORCED to sit down and shut-up -- by the government.
The devolution of America into a third world communist dictatorship could have been avoided. But I am awfully afraid it is too late to stop it now. Even taking to the streets will be countered by government authorities. (What do you think the government purchase of all that ammunition was about, anyway? The government is prepared for angry Americans rioting in the streets.)
THIS food fight is going to get a whole lot bigger in the months and years ahead. If I lived in an American city today, I'd be, at the very least, planning a way to move my family out and as far into the country as possible. Even folks living in the country are preparing, even now, to defend their property. A close friend revealed to me recently that he is stocking up on ammunition every chance he gets, insuring that he has a personal inventory, at all times, of no less than 5,000 rounds.
The food face-off in our school cafeterias is a small thing, to be sure. But a number of small things will inevitably lead to big things. If you doubt me, just wait 'til after noon on January 20th, 2013. That date, that hour, will, I believe, mark the end of the American Republic. At which point, all bets are off.

Rush: Obama Campaign In Disarray
RUSH: Now, no, I’m not tell you how I think most people are going to end up thinking Obama has no credibility. They’re not gonna analyze it this way. I’m just telling you: A presidential campaign, after 3-1/2 years that is forced or willing to literally turn upside down everything it believes with just under two months to go in an election, is a sign of a campaign that is in disarray and does not have a message. And they don’t. They don’t have a record to run on, they don’t have anything positive, and they think now Romney’s given them one here, or given them something.

Surprise! Surprise! They HATE US! ... J. D. Longstreet
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
**************
As I watched a cable news show recently, the screen was split into six portions and each portion was showing live coverage of Islamic anti-American demonstrations in six different Islamic countries.
No. I was NOT surprised. Those people hate us. Heck, I've known that for most of my seven-plus decades of life.
I'll tell you something else, too. All the "kissing-up" by the Obama administration is only making matters worse.
Two observations:
One: Democracy is NOT for everybody.
Two: There is a place in this world for "strongman" dictators. (That split screen presentation of the riots proved it for me.)
Democracy and Islam do not mix. Freedom cannot exist where Islam also exists. It is akin to mixing matter and anti-matter. You will get a godawful explosion.
So far as the rioting of the Muslims, I could not care less. The fact that they hate us doesn't concern me -- at all. I believe most Americans, at least in the region of the country where I reside, feel the same way. We view them as religious nuts and fruitcakes who, for whatever reason, have chosen to bow their necks to a political system that disguises itself as a religion.
In my view -- they have chosen that way of life and we (the US) ought to butt-out and leave them to their misery. It, apparently, is what they want.
I have to tell you, this kow-towing by our President and Secretary of State is unbecoming and, frankly, it is embarrassing to Americans -- well, to conservative Americans, anyway.
The American left seems unable to grasp the truth that apologizing, for whatever reason, is seen as a sign of weakness by the Islamic masses in the Middle East. Our president continues to look flaccid, impotent, less than a leader in their eyes and they have interpreted it -- and continue to interpret his attitude toward their childish behavior -- as WEAKNESS! To be honest -- so do I!
If it were possible to wall the Muslim nations off from the remainder of the world, I'd vote for doing so. We isolate insane people from the remainder of society all the time. Why not isolate insane regions of the world the same way?
You know what DOES frighten me about the Islamic tantrums? The fact that the Islamic community in America is growing. Pretty soon we are going to experience a movement on the part of Islamists in America to have Sharia law accepted by the American judicial system. It won't be accepted because we have, at least for now, the constitution. How long then, one must ask, before the bombings, the beheadings, the riots, the totally insane behavior of the Muslims begins in the US?
Let's be clear here: The American people are watching all the Muslim insanity on their TV's and they know we have had a great influx of Islamic followers into our country over the past decades and, yes, we ARE wondering how long before we face that same sort of anarchistic behavior in our own country?
So far, Americans have been nice. But when another defecates in OUR house, we tend to take it personally and, you can be sure, we WILL react.
Isn’t it just a tad ignorant NOT to expect this kind of concern from Americans -- a people whom Muslims have attacked many times, and, even now, vow to destroy?
I must tell you -- when someone tells me they intend to kill me and my family, I sit up and I take notice, and I do everything in my power to keep that from happening and… I sure as heck will not lend them a hand in my own murder, or the murder of my family, or my extended family, the people of America.
Eleven years ago this month Islamic fanatics brought us 9/11 -- the World Trade Center. I can't forget that. I don't want to forget that!
I was but a wee child when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. That still burns within me to this day. 9/11 will burn right alongside it 'til my dying day.
Influenced as I am by past acts of terror against my country by Islamic fanatics, I bristle at the demands they make of my country. I feel the same urge a little boy feels -- just before he kicks over an ant hill. Just level it and walk away.
America needs, in my opinion, to simply accept that the Islamic nations hate us, viscerally, and always will. We need to accept that the Islamic people are America's enemies and will be for eternity. We need, as a nation, to accept that and treat them as an enemy at every opportunity.
We also need to recognize that we have a huge problem, here in America, with Islam. I understand the First Amendment protection of the practice of religion in America, but what do we do when that religion is also a political philosophy/system and is a threat to the national security of America?
Look. At some point, most likely sooner than later, America is going to run headlong into this problem. We are going to be forced to deal with it. The painful truth is that we will have to decide if we want an Islamic America or an America where one is free to practice his choice of religions -- so long as the practice of that religion poses no threat to national security.
As I watch the Islamic tantrums on TV, the choice, to me, is clear. America MUST find a legal way to ban the practice of Islam in America. If it requires a constitutional amendment then we had better do it -- and soon.
I understand the import of what I have said above. But the choice is a stark one. Either we protect ourselves while we can or the US will become an Islamic nation under Sharia law.
Take another look at those Muslim riots on TV. See what they are doing in their own countries and to each other -- then tell me again why I am wrong.

Obama Picks "The View" Over World Leaders
VideeWel:
9/25/2012. Newt Gingrich outlines many examples of Obama's arrogance and narcissism.
Fox News: As world leaders gather at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, President Obama and the first lady gathered with the women of the daytime talk show,"The View," sadly choosing show business over the business of foreign relations. Leadership is about priorities, what does this say about the priorities of our president?
The White House says the scheduled appearance on the couch of "The View" didn't allow him to meet with world leaders. On the heels of the worst terrorist attack since 9/11, the question in the White House scheduling office shouldn't have been whether the president has time to meet with world leaders, the question should have been "does he have time for 'The View?'"

Euripides Recommends: No Easy Day by Mark Owen and Kevin Maurer
No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden, by Mark Owen and Kevin Maurer, should be on your reading list.
This brilliant story not only covers the Navy Seal Team 6 mission that killed Osama bin Laden, but also covers an interesting and gripping story of the military life of a Navy Seal. The author takes great pains to ensure that he reveals no classified information in his book, yet is still able to tell an amazing story.
The book has come under fire by the mainstream media, which is, right there, a good reason to read the book. Most news accounts focus on the author's report that Osama bin Laden was shot while unarmed, as though that was the height of evil. Only in a world overrun by the religion of modern liberalism, is killing a mass murderer considered a crime.
The book has some fairly straightforward description of the handling of bin Laden's body. While not graphic, the frank discussion might make some readers queasy. For those of us Americans who remember 9/11 and who despise true evil wherever it occurs, reading this story provides a certain catharsis after 11 long years.
The real reason, however, to read the book, is to discover the world of America's professional warriors. Most of what Navy Seals do is so classified, those many, many stories of heroism and bravery will be lost. The author succeeds in bringing a feel for his profession, as a member of Navy Seal Team 6, even though he's quite limited in what he can really report about their activities.
Thanks to my friend LL at Virtual Mirage for recommending this book to me.

Who Could Possibly Be "Undecided?" ... J. D. Longstreet
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
****************
I don't get it. How could any sentient American, after nearly four years of the reign of Obama, be "undecided" just 5 weeks before the election? How is that even possible?
I don't buy it. I think they have already decided and just want the attention.
Maybe not.
It smacks more of the MsM's drive to depress GOP voters and convince republicans to stay home on election day than it does of the truth.
But then -- what is truth?
In a country as plugged-in and wired as America, it just seems impossible for anyone to have as much information heaped upon them as the residents of this country and manage to remain undecided this late in the presidential campaign. I think the bumper sticker imprinted with "If you are still undecided, then you aren't paying attention" has more than a little merit.
The so-called undecided voters scare the heck out of me! They are said to be the "swing" voters this election cycle and that ought to worry everyone. They are said to be less partisan and less engaged. Neither condition creates any confidence in me, anyway, that these people will wind up being informed voters. That is even more frightening.
It is worrisome for me that the election could hinge on how these less engaged voters mark their ballots. I can visualize them standing in the voting booth, pencil in hand, saying: eenie, meenie, minee, moe ... ! Like I said -- it scares the heck out of me!
Another name for these undecideds is "low information" voters. Huh? How is that even possible in America today. We have a President who only stopped campaigning long enough for his swearing-in at the inaugural at noon on January 20th, 2009, and a challenger who has run for President at least twice and run for other public offices twice more.
Every hour of every minute of the broadcast medium in the US is saturated with political announcements either endorsing or condemning both the candidates. Our phones ring off the hooks as political pollsters call and campaign workers call, and the Lord only knows who else.
Look. It is almost impossible NOT to have more than enough information on both the candidates, at this point in the election cycle , to make an educated choice between them.
I think we are experiencing something my father used to call "willful ignorance." Defined, "willful ignorance" is the result of a concentrated effort on the behalf of the individual to avoid information that might, when once received, (just might) endow the receiver with something approaching responsibility to make a choice, to take a stand, to act responsibly as a member of a constitutional republic. As long as that information can be avoided, as long as the individual can remain ignorant of it, then he/she can justify their shirking of responsibility -- at least in their own minds.
I know people like that, and I suspect that you do, as well. They are a part of every group. They stand back, wait, watch, as the other members of the group make the decisions that affect the entire group, then more often than not, they offer criticism when the group's decision turns out to be less than favorable to the group's effort. With apologies to our church-going readers, one finds this sort of scenario quite often within various church groups and even in congregations.
Doesn't it strike you as dangerous that these are the people who will choose the next leader of the free world, the man who will occupy the most powerful office on the planet? As I said above: It scares the heck out of me!
Democracy and ignorance do not mix. Just take a look at the nations of the Middle East and North Africa today. If additional evidence is required, look at the results of the 2008 Presidential election in the US.
Democracy is a wonderful thing. But it is quite dangerous in the hands of the ignorant and/or the uninformed.
The experts tell us that as much as seven percent of the US electorate is undecided today.
The fact that these undecideds are party partisans reinforces my own opinion that their lack of information is willful.
OK. Before I am lynched, let me state that yes, I know the population of that seven percent is not static. Voters move into and out of the undecided category all the time. But -- I'd bet there is a core that remains stuck within that category ad infinitum.
Then there are some, I'd venture to say, who are like a child in an ice cream parlor completely overwhelmed with all the flavors available to him and totally unable to choose which flavor he wants. (TWO candidates are overwhelming?! Well -- YEAH!)
So. Here we are on the eve of the eve of the most important event in the US since the ratification of the US Constitution, an event that will decide if America remains free or chooses the slavery of communism -- and we are at the mercy of a tiny group of voters who can't decide which way to vote, or even if they are going to vote. Many, I'd warrant, would like to shun the responsibility to vote altogether -- and may.
The score is tied. The winning run is on third base. There are two outs. The batter already has two strikes and three balls to his credit. Not swinging at all, the batter is allowing every pitch to scream past the plate. That's when I notice it is the bat boy timidly standing at the plate with a white knuckle grip on that ash stick, pallid of face, and sweating profusely. The pitcher winds up, launches a smoking fast ball toward the plate, -- and -- I wake up.
Yeah, it IS a nightmare -- for BOTH democrats and republicans.
The fate of a nation hangs in the balance -- and -- please, Lord, let me wake up!

Obama USDA offering women, Hispanic farmers over $1.3 billion in discrimination payouts
Daily Caller – As part of “a new era of civil rights” at the Department of Agriculture, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack announced Monday that Hispanic and women farmers and ranchers who believe USDA discriminated against them can file claims to get a piece of at least $1.33 billion in cash awards and tax relief payments and up to $160 million in farm debt relief, beginning this week.
Women and Hispanic ranchers and farmers who feel the agency denied their loan or loan servicing applications because of their race or gender at various periods from 1981 to 2000 can file claims alleging discrimination from Sept. 24, 2012, to March 25, 2013, for a slice of the payout.

The Upcoming Debates – What Romney Must do to Win
by Mark A. Cohen
A boss of mine once said, “If you want the manager’s job, you must act like a manager.” In the three upcoming presidential debates, the first on Wednesday, Oct. 3, Gov. Romney must seem like our president. I suggest he avoid too much criticism of President Obama, and surprise us all with details. Tell them your plan, Mitt.
The mainstream media (MSM) will come prepared to trip the Republican candidate, so Governor Romney will need to turn their loaded, biased questions into clear answers. Don’t let them distract you, Mitt, as they will try. Stay on target and tell the American people what you came prepared to say. They will try to make President Obama look like a champion of the people instead of the commander-in-chief of so many failed policies. They will attempt to make you look like a fool, a rich guy, one who doesn’t care. We need to see how much you do.
A few of my readers might not understand how the questions will be biased, so let me give one example. The chances are high the talking heads might ask something like, “Governor Romney, when you said you didn’t care about 47% of the people in that video…” - He didn’t say he didn’t care about anyone, he said they wouldn’t vote for him. And, they won’t concentrate on any of President Obama’s gaffs, believe me. Not all, but several will be softball questions to the president, watch and see. “What do you like best about being president?” is but one example.
As a presidential hopeful, Mr. Romney needs to tell us about his vision for a stronger America in a safer world, his better economy via job creation at an accelerated pace, better schools, better teachers, his ideas for a re-invigorated and active space program, (how’s that for education, my liberal friends?) – and specifically, how to get there from here. We have to see him answer the president’s talking points, you know, “trickle-down doesn’t work…a return to the Bush policies…pay your fair share…spread the wealth…Republicans do teacher-bashing…more people covered than ever before…the Republicans opposed me at every turn…tsunamis, ATMs…I can’t change Washington from the inside…Republicans favor dirty air and dirty water…” He must challenge the president at least three times, ask questions of him, point out his failings in front of him; policies, ideas, over-spending, and ideology. Mr. Romney must seem like the adult while not scolding the child.
Yes, the specifics are all there, Democrats - policies, issues, details, on his web site here or here, pay attention, please. Tell us you don’t like the ideas, but do stop saying that there are no ideas. Oh, and by the way, if you own a business, you did build that!

The Conspiracy Of The Lawless.

Hillary Clinton is culpable in what is obviously and rapidly becoming the greatest foreign policy implosion in modern history. The Justice Department, under the uber-lawless Eric Holder, has set new and ominous standards for the utter disregard of the rule of law and the US Constitution. Take your pick. From Kathleen Sebelius, who aided and abetted Planned Parenthood’s illegalities in the State of Kansas… to the activities of Janet (the mustache) Napolitano, who has fostered an entire hierarchy in her department of “like-minded” individuals who have made harassment of a sexual nature an unpleasant reality for those who have to serve under them. More on Ms. Janet later.
MaoBama’s phantasmagorical flight of fancy in which he, and he alone, would be the arbiter between a greatly weakened and diminished America and the seventh century savages that make up the world of Islam, has collapsed like a deflated balloon. Make no mistake about it… this administration, which has left our embassies and our foreign service personnel virtually defenseless in the most unstable region on the planet, is culpable as hell.
The fact that they clung to the narrative as long as they did… that a 14-minute trailer to a supposed film no one has seen and which, incidentally, was shot months ago, inflamed the whole middle east, would indicate naiveté and a disconnect with reality which is difficult for any thinking person to fathom.
Whether on the international scene, or the increasingly desperate thrashings of MaoBama and his DeMarxists here at home, there are disturbing indications that Mao may have already set the stage for an end run around our election laws and the electoral process. Needless to say, the Constitution would not present much of a barrier to Mr Mao should he decide to stage a coup. ‘Not in this country’, you say. Don’t be too sure. El Flaco Communista has shown all the propensities of a third world tyrant… Developing…..

“Replacement Referees” Implementing Obama’s Foreign Policy
Or they make the call…the wrong call…then change it back to the right call. But, mark the penalty wrong.
And, then the NFL punishes those with the audacity to question the use of those who clearly aren’t qualified to referee a professional game.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the same can be said for said for President Obama’s foreign policy. Though in this realm, they rarely, if ever, make the right call.
Bin Laden is dead and General Motors is alive!
OK, we’ll give him credit for that. And, for the purpose of this article, let simply give Kudos to Obama for getting Bin Laden (an un-assisted goal in hockey terms).

INFLATION On The Way ... J. D. Longstreet
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet
**************
Let me be clear. I am not an economist. Heck, I'm not even a CPA. Frankly, I know squat about finance short of running a business and having the good sense to hire someone to handle the financial end of the business -- extremely well.
Here, at the Longstreet Manor, My lovely and gracious (and long-suffering!) spouse is the financier. She is my "Personal Banker." No, I MEAN IT! She has kept me out of jail, debtor's prison, or wherever they place men like me (who spend all the money they can lay their hands on.)
See, I view money as having been made for one purpose -- to spend! And yes, I have been told all my life that one cannot take it with them when one departs this world. Although, I did meet a hearse once, out on the interstate, towing a U-Haul trailer behind it. I remarked to my wife at the time, that, perhaps, someone HAD figured out a way to take it with them, after all!
I distinctly remember a member of my board of directors insisting once, many years ago, that if he couldn't take it with him, the he wasn't going! Today's he's gone -- and so is his money. Oh, he didn't take it with him. No, after he passed from the scene, the family spent the heck out of it until, it, too, was gone!
This may seem strange and even alien to some of you, but I never sought wealth. It was never important to me. Having ample funds to stay fed, clothed, housed, and out of jail was sufficient. So far, I have managed to do that.
I think an aunt made such an impression on me, as a child, that it bent me in a way one might even describe as fear of wealth.
See, my aunt ,was the daughter of a share cropper. (I'm the first generation off the farm, myself.) She was fortunate. She married a man on the way up in one of the most powerful labor unions in the country at the time. They became wealthy. But it affected my aunt in a strange way. She was always afraid -- afraid of losing her wealth and returning, I suppose, to the poverty she knew growing up as a hard scrabble sharecropper. She invested wisely, had plenty of money, real estate, stocks, bonds, all of it. But what she lacked was happiness.
I decided then and there, I did not want that. I chose an occupation that I loved, was, indeed, suited for and I stayed with it for thirty years.
Now that I have established my bona fides -- which is to say that I am dumb as a post when it comes to high finance, I am about to tell you why Ben Bernanke blew the US economy to hell recently with QE-3.
In a word: INFLATION.
The money you had before QE-3 is now worth less -- and the more money Ben and his cronies order printed -- the less your money will be worth.
Bernanke, a Jew and a Republican, was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised just thirty miles, or so, from where I sit as I write this piece. It's a small country town in the coastal plain of South Carolina. So, we are both "Sandlappers." And as much as I would like to agree with, and support, a fellow son of the Palmetto State, and a fellow Republican, I cannot. He's wrong on this and, unfortunately, all Americans are going to pay for it, dearly, in the not too distant future.
It pains me to say this, but I am of the mind that Ben really wants Obama to win the coming election. See, Mr. Romney has already said he intends to replace Mr. Bernanke if he is elected. So, it stands to reason that if Bernanke can make the President look good, or even better, in the few weeks left 'til election day, Obama may be reelected and -- guess what -- Ben gets to keep his cushy job!
See? Politics ain't all that hard, now, is it?
Seriously, inflation brings the mighty low... quickly! To get a better understanding of what inflation, especially hyperinflation can do to a country just Google "Weimar Republic" or "Hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic."
During the Gerald Ford Administration the US had a fight with inflation. I can still see, in my mind's eye those big red WIN buttons -- "Whip Inflation Now!" It took a toll on the country that lasted the remainder of Ford's Administration, through the Carter Administration, and right up until Ronald Reagan came into office. It was an anvil around the neck of the US economy.
As I said, I don't know diddly-squat about high finance so I can't dazzle you with great gobs of numbers with dollar signs and percentage signs, etc., but take it from a guy who was trying to run a business during those years and believe me when I tell you it was "hunker down" and "tread water" time during those years. Reagan tossed the country a life-preserver and we got through it -- vowing never to make the same mistake again.
But Americans have extremely short memories. As a result, we are making the same mistakes over and we are inflicting unnecessary pain on ourselves.
The MSM was touting the skyrocket in the stock markets after Bernanke made the announcement. And, yes, it DID look good. But, believe me -- it is a bubble and IT WILL BURST -- and we will be far worse for it in the end.

Romney: White House "jumped the gun" explaining Libya attack

Appeasement in the Middle East: Is Obama's Policy of Weakness to Blame f...
Pajamasmedia
It's clear that the recent embassy attacks in Libya and Egypt resulting in the death of a US ambassador were terrorist attacks. President Obama however continues to blame the US and a video from an unknown filmmaker. Is the video to blame, or are these attacks the result of Obama's policy of appeasing Islamic extremists? Elan Journo of the Ayn Rand institute and Terry Jones of IBD join Allen Barton to discuss Obama's foreign policy in the Middle East.

9/24/12 - Here is audio of Rush Limbaugh pointing out research by Jay Cost that every incumbent President below 50% in the Gallup Poll in mid-September of an election year has gone on to lose the election. But Rush reminds that polls are only snapshots in time and in the end, really do not matter. They don't count.
