I am a fan of Thomas Sowell and his work in economics, as well as a defender of US constitutional values. Every so often, he publishes a list of "Random Thoughts," which catalog his thoughts on what's happening in the modern world. At the risk of copying his idea, I have a list of Euripides' Observations. I present these as the sincerest form of flattery, not that Sowell would mind the writings of a piddly, little blogger....Euripides' Observations
Does anyone remember that the "Bush Tax Cuts" expired in 2010 and were renewed by the Democrat-super-majority Congress under President Obama? These cuts are set to expire again at the end of 2012. Does anyone remember that the current Congress, with a Republican-controlled House, a Democrat-controlled Senate, and an ideologue-controlled president probably won't extend the tax cuts?Having a PhD isn't a measure of IQ. In fact, I know a lot of PhDs, especially in the social sciences, whose total IQ wouldn't match up to the common sense of my neighbor's dog. At least the dog knows when to chase strangers away from his property.
Who really believes, deep down inside of themselves, that Obamacare will "fix" the medical insurance industry? The federal government has done so much to "fix" Social Security, national energy, interstate commerce, schools, and agriculture, that no one can afford to retire, to ship products, to learn, or to eat.
Maybe the heart of socialism is its tendency to create state dependence so that no one can afford to work in the private sector.
Dear student who "worked really hard in class" and "really needs an A": Maybe if you had turned in all of your assignments, and on time, you would have earned an A in the class, instead of whining about not getting an A after the class has ended.
I went to see the movie Brave the other day. It was a good movie. However, does it ever occur to Hollywood writers that men, especially fathers, aren't all clueless buffoons? How can we ever grow as a society if men or women are constantly denigrated?
Fast and Furious is a travesty of modern political thought. What did Holder and BATFE think would happen when they sold rifles to Mexican drug cartels, with no means to track them? That's right. They didn't think. And why is the anti-gun Brady Campaign defending Eric Holder? Could it possibly be that Holder and the Obama Administration wanted to use Fast and Furious as a means to take more 2nd Amendment rights away from Americans? Too bad the whole project backfired....
Why won't the Justice Department prosecute Eric Holder for contempt of Congress? Oh, that's right, Holder's in charge of the Justice Department.

Dear lady in front of me in line at the grocery store: No, the tattoos on your neck, shoulders, arms, and exposed back don't make you any more attractive than you probably were. Please don't stand in line in front of me after you turn 50.
Thanks to Obamacare, I had to go to the most basic insurance coverage because I could no longer afford the premiums I was paying. Now, thanks to the Supreme Court, I can also owe more in taxes for the privilege of having crappy insurance.
A year ago, local news broadcasters started calling Arizona monsoon dust storms "haboobs." Funny, up until that time, everyone just called them "dust storms."
Everyone concerned with politics today seems intent on griping about the Republicans, or the Democrats. Has anyone considered that the real problem may just well be government?

SCOTUS Declares Obamacare is a Legit Tax
Even though the majority of Supreme Court justices declares the individual mandate as unconstitutional, Chief Justice Roberts join with the liberal justices to accept that Obamacare is a tax. If you look at it that way, the government spends 18% of the GDP on healthcare. In contrast, we spend 4.8% of the GDP on the military. It is now a reality to see what other countries experience under socialize medicine. Prepare yourselves for rationed healthcare, death panels, a weakened economy, and destruction of a perfectly good healthcare system.
(Rush Limbaugh) RUSH: Hey, folks, have you seen the economic news today? Have you heard about the unemployment numbers today? (laughing) Gross domestic product, have you heard about any of that?
Because I have it here, and it sucks. It's a disaster. The economy of this country remains a disaster. And we, the American people, have just been deceived in ways that nobody contemplated. And what we now have is the biggest tax increase in the history of the world. What we have been told by the chief justice of the Supreme Court and four liberals on the court: Obamacare is just a massive tax increase. That's all it is. Obama lied to us about that. The Democrats lied. "It wasn't a tax. There was no way it was a tax." The chief justice was hell-bent to find a way to make this law applicable, so he just decided, you know what, as a tax increase, it works, because there's no limit on the federal government's ability to tax.
And it's right there in the preamble of the Constitution, right there, Article 1, Section 8, the general welfare clause, it's been established Congress can tax whatever, whoever, whenever, how much they want. Even when they don't ask for it, the Supreme Court is gonna find a way to make what they want to do legal because John Roberts said it's not our job here to forbid this. It's not our job to protect people from outcomes.
It's not our job to determine whether it is right or wrong or any of that. We just get to look at it. We can't forbid this. This is what the elected representatives of the people want. No, the elected representatives of the people were deceived. Remember yesterday I asked you, if this decision went this way, what was your initial reaction going to be. And how many of you were deflated as you can be because of the way this was reported?
The first thing that came down, the mandate, unconstitutional, that was the first thing everybody reported. Mandate unconstitutional, big sigh of relief. And then within moments, wait a minute, wait a minute, we're reading further. Hold it just a second. The mandate's unconstitutional, but the court has decided it's a tax, and therefore it's okay. So Obamacare is nothing more than the largest tax increase in the history of the world.

Americans are about to learn why the 11 states of the Old Confederacy decided to leave the Union back in the 1860's. State legislatures all across America, not just in the southern states, are about to feel the clinching mailed fist of the federal government. Some are bound to balk and get their hackles up and, eventually, want out.
In 1860 and early 1861 no fewer than eleven states felt that way and their people held conventions and decided to leave the Union in a "Hail Mary" maneuver to save the original constitution -- at least for themselves. The people of two other states were split on secession but huge portions of both states sided with the Confederacy -- therefore, the thirteen stars on the national flags of the Confederacy.
So -- why am I even THINKING about secession today? Well, as an American who was born free and just days ago was enslaved by -- and to -- the federal government, secession is beginning to appear as a viable alternative to slavery. You can bet, if this lowly commentator is thinking it, a whole lot of Americans are beginning to consider whether it is worth a shot -- to preserve, at least, SOME freedom from the state.
But then, there will be a delayed reaction by the American public to their loss of freedom on Thursday June 28th, 2012. I mark this date as a red letter day -- a day which will go down in history as the day freedom died in America. It was the day when America chucked freedom in favor of socialism and slavery to the state.
Already, some of us mourn the loss of Freedom, Capitalism, Democracy, and yes, even America's position in the world as its leader. In place of all these, America has chosen SOCIALISM the "Destroyer of Nations".
I STILL find it absolutely incredible that a people so endowed by their creator and by their ancestors -- who gave their lives to gain, secure, and preserve gain freedom and liberty for their American progeny -- could so easily, with seemingly no thought at all as to its value, blithely, heedlessly, with no thought at all, toss it all away all because a government entity (as fickle as government has proven itself to be) promises -- PROMISES -- to take care of them from cradle to grave.
It even strains credulity, this readiness to believe the manifold promises the government has made about health care. There is an OBVIOUS lack of proof and knowledge that Obamacare can even BEGIN to deliver on all its promises. There is ample evidence that the Affordable Healthcare Act is doomed to failure as a national healthcare delivery system because its record in those countries that have instituted it, (or plans similar to it) already, have failed, and failed utterly leaving their old and sick to die for want of medical services.
However, with an arrogance only fools have the stupidity to rely upon, an arrogance that replaced their mental competence long ago, the best and the brightest of the political left, like lemmings plunging off a cliff to certain death, joyfully continue to assure those Americans who, themselves, feel a need for a national "nanny," that all will be well. No need to trouble oneself over such mundane matters as financing for the billions of dollars the so-called Obamacare scam will most certainly cost the taxpayers of America.
Like the misdirection of an accomplished magician they turn our attention away from such important questions as -- where will all the doctors come from? America is at least 160,000 doctors short, as of today. Who will care for the sick -- a doctor, a Physician's Assistant, a Nurse Practitioner, or an EMT. Who?
These are all legitimate, extremely important questions and no one, it seems, is asking them -- and no one is volunteering the answers.
No one seems concerned over the depth of government intrusion into every American's life granted by the Affordable Healthcare Act. Obamacare takes away citizenship and recategorizes every American as a serf or, indeed, a slave.
I am ashamed of my fellow Americans for giving up their freedom, their constitution, their liberty, everything the Founding Fathers gave us, for so cheap a price and so fleeting a dream. They were promised nothing. They accepted nothing -- and will be given nothing.
The disunity of America is now assured. There is nothing left of that which bound us together. the Union of American States begins its devolution today. The people of states wishing to be free will be forced to seek a path to separation from that government which is holding them captive. Oh, it will take a while, but it WILL come.
The descent of America, into the ash heap of history, has officially begun. The decline will be relatively swift and excruciatingly painful.
May God have Mercy on America, on those who warned "the other people who live in this country". I cannot use "fellow Americans" as that phrase no longer applies. It has been shredded by the Obama Machine and by the socialist party -- AKA: the Democratic Party.
Americans who have not armed themselves up to now, will hasten to do so. It is the prudent thing to do. There can be no question there will be violence within America in the near future. Those who survive will be those who prepare today.
Forward thinking Americans will ready themselves for the coming anarchy. Providence, it seems, has decided to withdraw its protection and leave exposed those who have defaced and destroyed this land from within.
Soon America will face wars within and without our borders, financial collapse, descention between the races, and open hostility in the streets of our cities. Those expecting utopia will finally learn they have been duped and no such paradise on earth is within their reach nor even within their sight. They will, finally, learn they were simply a means toward an end, useful idiots, and now that that end has been accomplished, the goal has been reached, they are no longer needed nor wanted.
We mourn the passing of the UNITED States of America. America is now the Democratic Socialist States of America. Today the biblical “pale horse” has been loosed upon the land.
America is about to enter a tribulation period unlike anything it has ever experienced in it’s entire history. Our ship of state is about to founder on the rocks and we have an inexperienced deckhand who believes himself a pathfinder, a navigator without equal, at the helm stirring us onto the shoals, the rocks, and the reef.
America has done some “dumb” things in her colorful history but this one will be forever marked in red in the records of our history. Thursday June 28th, 2012 will forever be remembered as the day America forsook freedom for the slavery of socialism.

I'm stunned Obamacare passed.
Conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer says the turncoat Chief Justice John Roberts, basically put it in our laps to elect Romney and a conservative congress if we don't like it.
My question for the President is simple.
My sister makes minimum wage. She is older than 26 and less than 65. She can't be shielded from our retired parents nor qualify for medicare. She hasn't a child from a nameless baby daddy nor is an immigrant so she doesn't qualify for medicaid. She can barely support herself and thus skips health insurance to pay the rent first.
We can agree, when she does get sick, without preventative care, her last minute emergency room visit will be expensive. Americans can't throw her into the street, so they care for her. Her expenses are spread among those that do pay. My cousin once hurt his ankle in a softball game and went to the E.R. His insurance paid $26 for a bag of ice. It wasn't made from magic unicorn dust, rather it was "padded" with costs spent on unfortunate people like my sister.
Colombia has great health care. They don't throw you out in the street if you don't have health insurance, they push you into the halls and maybe… if the doctor isn't too busy and the machine for the procedure is already on and running... will attend to you. Cruel. But the only way a 3rd world country has great health care.

Rachel Maddow last night argued, RomneyCare had millions of government money telling Massachusetts citizens that RomneyCare is great. That's how RomneyCare got the "successful" 66% approval rating. I assume her solution for ObamaCare to get a "success" of a slight majority is for Obama to outspend the $250 billion of negative GOP advertising. (Maddow's arguments are always the childish "Well, he did it too!" Obmama spends too much? Well Reagan spent too much! And so on. As Mama Gump would tell little Forrest, you can't justify bad behavior by saying someone else did it first and got away with it.

Back to common sense. The reason 1/3 of Massachusetts doesn't like RomneyCare is that the cheaper stuff they are forced to buy doesn't cover anything. I once had dental that only covered 2 cleanings a year. No cavities, procedures or anything else. It was fiscally smarter to forego insurance and pay for 1 cleaning a year out of pocket and floss more.
So there it is. My sister WILL get insurance so Obama WILL tout 99% of America is covered by health insurance with Maddow's help of course… free of charge. Like RomneyCare, ObamaCare will have impressive numbers to sell "success" so politicians can pat each other on the back.
But also my sister WILL be poorer. And in the end, when she's sick, her flimsy plan won't cover squat, leaving my cousin and the rest of us holding the bag...

America Is NOW A Socialist Police State

Obama and his fellow socialists in the White House and Congress probably did not realize that all the self congratulatory fist pumping , high fives, and atta-boys at the decision on Obamacare by the Supreme Court was a bit premature. Yes. They won the battle, but the war has only begun.
It was an inspirational victory -- for the conservative right through out America. The outrage was palpable.
Conservatives who were not on board for Mr. Romney, the GOP candidate running against Obama for President, began a rush to Romney's side moments after the Court's decision was announced, and money began to pour into Romney's campaign coffers. In less than four hours 1 million and a half dollars had found its way into the hands of the Romney campaign. And the spigot was barely turned on.
A tsunami of outrage rolled across America picking up steam as it went. Even the US House of Representatives announced another vote to repeal Obamacare was scheduled for early July when the representatives return from their July 4th recess.
The lackadaisical republican base was ignited with a new vigor, vitality and resolve to toss out Obama and as much of his cohort now in the US Senate and the US House of Representatives as is possible in the Fall election.
Staunch conservatives who have complained that Romney is too moderate, not conservative enough, swallowed their distaste for the nominee-to-be with the realization that Romney is, indeed, the only candidate we have to replace Obama. They moved resolutely into the Romney camp.
Those talking heads of the chattering class of the news shows and talk shows on the cable news TV channels who STILL proclaimed the election is STILL about the economy will look back on their moment of very bad judgment after November with shame and embarrassment -- and with the knowledge that on Thursday June 28th, 2012, the terms of the election changed from the economy to repealing Obamacare and defeating all those supporters of Obamacare who remain in the Congress. THAT is now the motivation for sweeping the White House and the Congress in the November election.
We are about to see a revolution in America.
As my friend Alan Caruba rightly pointed out in a fiery commentary immediately following the announcement of the Court's decision, America is now a police state.
Mr. Caruba is, sadly, correct. As of Thursday, June 28th, 2012, the constitution is null and void -- as is the Bill of Rights. Now the government can command any American citizen to do anything it chooses and if that hapless citizen does not comply, the government can fine him with a heavy tax to compel him to comply with that government command. By any definition -- America is now a police state.
State's rights no longer exists -- at all. There is no longer such a thing as a sovereign state. Arizona was only the beginning. State legislatures were rendered impotent in the face of the all powerful FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
It is crystal clear that Obama has delivered on his promise to "fundamentally CHANGE America." He most certainly did. He changed us from a free constitutional republic to a tin-pot dictatorship and a third-world country "wanna-be" almost overnight. The SCOTUS made the transformation complete by not striking down Obamacare.
Now here's a hard truth for you. Even though republicans say they want to repeal Obamacare, please note: It will necessitate a complete take-over of the US House of Representatives, the US Senate and the Office of the President of the United States. Without gaining all three, repealing Obamacare has no chance.
It is a fairly safe bet that the GOP will maintain ownership of the US House, but the US Senate is another matter. It will be much harder to win that House -- but we must TRY!
June 28th, 2012 is truly a day of infamy for America. It is the day America had socialism rammed down its throat by a socialist president. Make no mistake about it. America is NOW a socialist police state.
If it is true that people get the government they deserve, then, apparently, it is time for America to pay for her sins.
The next few years will be a time of tribulation for America. The entire nation is going to be in an uproar with Americans at each other's throats. The terrible divide that has split our country for a number of decades has just grown exponentially wider and is, I believe uncrossable. The split is now permanent. We are officially: "A House Divided."
The scriptures teach us that a house divided cannot stand. The plain truth is -- America is no exception to that rule.

Conservatives who were not on board for Mr. Romney, the GOP candidate running against Obama for President, began a rush to Romney's side moments after the Court's decision was announced, and money began to pour into Romney's campaign coffers. In less than four hours 1 million and a half dollars had found its way into the hands of the Romney campaign. And the spigot was barely turned on.
A tsunami of outrage rolled across America picking up steam as it went. Even the US House of Representatives announced another vote to repeal Obamacare was scheduled for early July when the representatives return from their July 4th recess.
The lackadaisical republican base was ignited with a new vigor, vitality and resolve to toss out Obama and as much of his cohort now in the US Senate and the US House of Representatives as is possible in the Fall election.
Staunch conservatives who have complained that Romney is too moderate, not conservative enough, swallowed their distaste for the nominee-to-be with the realization that Romney is, indeed, the only candidate we have to replace Obama. They moved resolutely into the Romney camp.
Those talking heads of the chattering class of the news shows and talk shows on the cable news TV channels who STILL proclaimed the election is STILL about the economy will look back on their moment of very bad judgment after November with shame and embarrassment -- and with the knowledge that on Thursday June 28th, 2012, the terms of the election changed from the economy to repealing Obamacare and defeating all those supporters of Obamacare who remain in the Congress. THAT is now the motivation for sweeping the White House and the Congress in the November election.
We are about to see a revolution in America.
As my friend Alan Caruba rightly pointed out in a fiery commentary immediately following the announcement of the Court's decision, America is now a police state.
Mr. Caruba is, sadly, correct. As of Thursday, June 28th, 2012, the constitution is null and void -- as is the Bill of Rights. Now the government can command any American citizen to do anything it chooses and if that hapless citizen does not comply, the government can fine him with a heavy tax to compel him to comply with that government command. By any definition -- America is now a police state.
State's rights no longer exists -- at all. There is no longer such a thing as a sovereign state. Arizona was only the beginning. State legislatures were rendered impotent in the face of the all powerful FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
It is crystal clear that Obama has delivered on his promise to "fundamentally CHANGE America." He most certainly did. He changed us from a free constitutional republic to a tin-pot dictatorship and a third-world country "wanna-be" almost overnight. The SCOTUS made the transformation complete by not striking down Obamacare.
Now here's a hard truth for you. Even though republicans say they want to repeal Obamacare, please note: It will necessitate a complete take-over of the US House of Representatives, the US Senate and the Office of the President of the United States. Without gaining all three, repealing Obamacare has no chance.
It is a fairly safe bet that the GOP will maintain ownership of the US House, but the US Senate is another matter. It will be much harder to win that House -- but we must TRY!
June 28th, 2012 is truly a day of infamy for America. It is the day America had socialism rammed down its throat by a socialist president. Make no mistake about it. America is NOW a socialist police state.
If it is true that people get the government they deserve, then, apparently, it is time for America to pay for her sins.
The next few years will be a time of tribulation for America. The entire nation is going to be in an uproar with Americans at each other's throats. The terrible divide that has split our country for a number of decades has just grown exponentially wider and is, I believe uncrossable. The split is now permanent. We are officially: "A House Divided."
The scriptures teach us that a house divided cannot stand. The plain truth is -- America is no exception to that rule.

Courting Disaster

Well, well, well. The Supreme Court has spoken, and Obamacare is still standing - found to be perfectly constitutional as long as the Supreme Court pretends that it's something other than what it was presented to be.
Even though the language wasn't in the law, and Barack Obama himself denied it, the majority of the Court decided that the "individual mandate" which compels Americans to buy a product (in this case insurance) whether they want it or not is entirely constitutional...as long as the word "penalty" is replaced with the word "tax." Hey, there's no need to rewrite the Constitution when it's so much easier to rewrite the dictionary!
In making this preposterous ruling, the Supreme Court essentially threw out individual liberty in this country, chained and shackled us, and delivered our sorry asses to the new Massas in Washington DC who will now make all of our decisions for us...or punish us with punitive taxes.
Driving a gas guzzling car, or one that doesn't spontaneously burst into flames like a GM product? Uh-oh...higher taxes for you! Belong to the Mormon church? There'll be a line for that on the new 1040 tax form (but good news! There may be tax credits for Muslims!).
Overweight? Multiply the number of pounds by $150 and send the total amount to Washington by April 15th, or else. Do you want to marry someone of the opposite sex? That'll cost you! You're NOT aborting that baby? Ka-ching, ka-ching!
Do you think these examples are extreme? Because NONE of them is as extreme as the government deciding whether or not you, or someone you love, will get life-saving healthcare based on Washington's whims of the moment and whatever political files they're keeping on you. And that's now been upheld as the law of the land.
And unlike Barack Obama, we're not allowed to simply declare that we won't obey laws we don't like.
The government now has the means to control all of our wealth, all of our means of productivity, and all of our personal actions and choices. So it is no overstatement to say that we are all slaves now.
And that we've got precisely one chance to change that peacefully in November.
So now is not the time for despair. It is the time for anger, for action, and for reclaiming our nation from those who have sold out our lives, our liberties, and our children for the sake of their own insatiable desire to rule us, to rob us, and to whip us into submission.
But they should be warned - there is no whip that strong.
Nor will the whip remain in their hands if we have the resolve to take it.

Obama won in the Supreme Court but the Republican base in the American electorate has just been fired up and can't wait to get to the polls in November.
As we suspected, all along, Obamacare was upheld as constitutional by the SCOTUS on Thursday June 28th, 2012. The battle lines have just been re-drawn. NOW the election in November is about REPEALING OBAMACARE!
As my friend and fellow blogger Alan Caruba has said: " ... it will condemn Americans to having bureaucrats deny medical care to some because of their age and others to die while waiting for it.
By any standard it is a horrendously bad law and one that initiated a huge political movement, the Tea Party, to oppose it. Mitt Romney is campaigning on the promise to repeal it. Some conservatives, myself included, will dedicate the weeks and months between today and the election in November to informing Americans of the huge government take-over of their lives. We intend to bring as much pressure as possible on the Congress and the Republican nominee for President -- as well as all GOP candidates for national and state offices across the land -- to engage in a massive movement by the people of the country to repeal this "Law from Hell."
Obama and his socialist cronies have won this round. They have, indeed, won the battle but they have not won the war. We intend to re-engage in battle in the Congress, with renewed vigor, in an attempt to repeal this law which makes legal the takeover of every single American's life by the federal government.
The election in November is no longer about republicans and democrats. No. It is now about Obamacare... exclusively!
It is time -- today -- for the Tea Party to step front and center, once again, and LEAD!
The infrastructure for a national resistance movement against Obamacare and the democrats in November should already be in place. It is now a matter of getting off our collective behinds and into the streets, in front of the camera's and microphones, in the papers , indeed, all the media, especially the Internet (by way of the blogosphere).
There is an expression I heard many decades ago and it has stuck with me ever since. "I'm bent, but I'm not bowed. I'm bloodied but I'm not slain. So, I'll lay me down and rest a bit, then I'll rise to fight again." The author is unknown to me but I have drawn strength from those words for a very long time and in many, many, situations. I do today.
For those of us opposed to Obamacare, the battle is not ended. Indeed, the historic words of Capt. John Paul Jones, the Father of the US Navy, are apropos here. Those words , reportedly uttered on the burning deck of Jones' sinking ship (in reply to the demand of the enemy ship's captain to surrender his vessel) reverberate across America today. Captain Jones is said to have responded defiantly: "Sir, I have NOT YET BEGUN TO FIGHT!" Jones -- and what was left of his crew -- won the battle, captured the enemy ship, and sailed away victorious.
According to the scriptures there is a time for everything under the sun.
In the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Holy Bible, "The Preacher" says: "What is crooked cannot be made straight and what is lacking cannot be numbered." (Ecclesiastes Chapter 2, verse 15.) The Preacher goes on to say: "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." He continues to enumerate the various matters for which there is a time, a season. The one that leapt out at me today was this one: "... a time to keep silence, and a time to speak ...."
THIS is a time to speak, to speak out, for freedom, for liberty, to restore the government America's forefathers intended and rid ourselves of this massive socialist, statist, nightmare which is suffocating freedom in America today.
Obamacare is nothing if it is not what Alexis de Tocqueville referred to as
"Soft Despotism." De Tocqueville described it this way: "After having thus successively taken each member of the community in its powerful grasp and fashioned him at will, the supreme power then extends its arm over the whole community. It covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate, to rise above the crowd. The will of man is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided; men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence; it does not tyrannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd."
De Tocqueville warned us what would happen to America if we continued on the course of Big Government. Over time, he warned, we would become so dependent upon government that we would simply stop being, well, human. Here is what he said: "It is in vain to summon a people who have been rendered so dependent on the central power to choose from time to time the representatives of that power; this rare and brief exercise of their free choice, however important it may be, will not prevent them from gradually losing the faculties of thinking, feeling, and acting for themselves, and thus gradually falling below the level of humanity."
IT IS HERE.
For that "remnant" of Americans who still believe, against all odds, that a spark of freedom, a glimmer of liberty, remains in America today, we have no choice but to rise up in righteous fury and demand that our elected leaders repeal the "Law from Hell," Obamacare, and send its supporters home in defeat and shame.
There can be NO Compromise on repealing Obamacare. America MUST be rid of this sulfurous brimstone reeking monster if the people of America are to have any chance, at all, of maintaining a single iota of personal freedom and liberty.
Let the battle begin -- and let all good men and women "ride to the sound of the guns," with all haste, determined to rescue the America our forefathers left in our keeping.
REPEAL OBAMACARE is our battle cry! We march beneath the black flag of "no quarter" for none can be given in this conflict to save our country.
I am committed to this fight until Obamacare is nothing more than a very bad memory and America is saved from its hellish claws.

For some reason, not much is made of the fact that the Supreme Court's political philosophy is a direct result of the party in power when vacancies suddenly appear through the passing of a Justice or the retirement of a Justice.
The President in office, at the time of the vacancy, appoints a new Justice and the US Senate approves or disapproves of his appointment. (By now, dear reader, you should be quaking in your boots considering that if Obama wins, he will likely get to appoint at least two more Justices to the Supreme Court. The US would then have a Socialist/Marxist court for many, many, decades into the future.)
It troubles me that today the Supreme Court is referred to, rather often, by those within the Mainstream Media as a CONSERVATIVE court. It is NOT a CONSERVATIVE court. If anything, it is a moderate court.
The court is actually split right down the middle with the swing justice, a moderate, deciding almost all of the decisions. For evidence look up all the 5 to 4 decisions handed down by the court in recent years.
As I write, we are awaiting a ruling by the SCOTUS on Obamacare. No matter how the court rules America will undergo changes unlike anything the country has experienced so far. Every American citizen will be affected by the Court's ruling. There is no escaping it.
Now that Mr. Obama has decided to take on the powers of an Emperor, he is railing at the Court in an attempt to intimidate the Court into a ruling that will favor his signature legislation -- socialized medicine -- in the US. No matter what happens, socialized medicine in America will forever be known as "Obamacare."
If I have my wish realized the Court will rule the entire law unconstitutional. Failing that, my fallback wish is that the Court rule the individual mandate unconstitutional and that the Congress move immediately to repeal the remainder of the law to limit the damage done to our country as a direct result of Obamacare.
However, I am a realist, and I fully understand that with a divided Congress, (The US House is in republican hands and the US Senate is in democrat hands -- and very little chance that will change after November) repeal of Obamacare is not very likely to happen. So, get ready, America, for sky-rocketing insurance premiums IF you happen to have a policy with one of the insurance companies that manages to remain in business. Not many of the insurance companies in business as I write this today will be able to continue to operate in the new business environment after the Court's decision. So do not be surprised if you get a letter informing you that your insurance company is going out of business. Thousands of Americans WILL get such alerts.
The lesson here is -- don't play around with socialism. You cannot win. It kills its host country every time.
There is SO much at stake in this election -- not the least of which is the so-called "balance" of the Supreme Court. If Romney wins in November we can, at least, expect the Court to remain a moderate court with the possibility of a REAL conservative Court in the future. If, however, Obama wins in November, we can expect a quick death for liberty and constitutionalism at the hands of an "Obamacourt."
If you are puzzled by my pointing to the Supreme Court as a political entity when, by rights, it is supposed to be non-political, then I refer you to the paragraph above in which I state that I am a realist. In a perfect world, the Court would be non-political -- so would the Justice Department. However, the world we live in is far from perfect and the Court's record is there for all to see.
Just remember -- when you go to the polls in November -- if you vote for Obama, you are actually voting for a Supreme Court so far left as to be incredible -- unbelievable. The constitution, itself, will be in danger of obsolescence. Freedom and liberty will most certainly be curtailed in ways you will not believe.
To say, as many have (including myself), that the up-coming election in November is the most important, most critical, election in the country's history may, in fact, be an understatement. The very existence of America as a nation of free people is at stake -- nothing less.
To put it as plainly as I know how: If Obama wins a second term -- America will be done for. That bright shining city on a hill will crumble into dust and the lighthouse of freedom will be doused as America stumbles into the darkness of obscurity winding her way onto the ash heap of history. IT WILL BE OVER.
If there was ever a time for good men to come to the aid of their country, of the constitution, of freedom and liberty, it is NOW.

As I write, we are awaiting a ruling by the SCOTUS on Obamacare. No matter how the court rules America will undergo changes unlike anything the country has experienced so far. Every American citizen will be affected by the Court's ruling. There is no escaping it.
Now that Mr. Obama has decided to take on the powers of an Emperor, he is railing at the Court in an attempt to intimidate the Court into a ruling that will favor his signature legislation -- socialized medicine -- in the US. No matter what happens, socialized medicine in America will forever be known as "Obamacare."
If I have my wish realized the Court will rule the entire law unconstitutional. Failing that, my fallback wish is that the Court rule the individual mandate unconstitutional and that the Congress move immediately to repeal the remainder of the law to limit the damage done to our country as a direct result of Obamacare.
However, I am a realist, and I fully understand that with a divided Congress, (The US House is in republican hands and the US Senate is in democrat hands -- and very little chance that will change after November) repeal of Obamacare is not very likely to happen. So, get ready, America, for sky-rocketing insurance premiums IF you happen to have a policy with one of the insurance companies that manages to remain in business. Not many of the insurance companies in business as I write this today will be able to continue to operate in the new business environment after the Court's decision. So do not be surprised if you get a letter informing you that your insurance company is going out of business. Thousands of Americans WILL get such alerts.
The lesson here is -- don't play around with socialism. You cannot win. It kills its host country every time.
There is SO much at stake in this election -- not the least of which is the so-called "balance" of the Supreme Court. If Romney wins in November we can, at least, expect the Court to remain a moderate court with the possibility of a REAL conservative Court in the future. If, however, Obama wins in November, we can expect a quick death for liberty and constitutionalism at the hands of an "Obamacourt."
If you are puzzled by my pointing to the Supreme Court as a political entity when, by rights, it is supposed to be non-political, then I refer you to the paragraph above in which I state that I am a realist. In a perfect world, the Court would be non-political -- so would the Justice Department. However, the world we live in is far from perfect and the Court's record is there for all to see.
Just remember -- when you go to the polls in November -- if you vote for Obama, you are actually voting for a Supreme Court so far left as to be incredible -- unbelievable. The constitution, itself, will be in danger of obsolescence. Freedom and liberty will most certainly be curtailed in ways you will not believe.
To say, as many have (including myself), that the up-coming election in November is the most important, most critical, election in the country's history may, in fact, be an understatement. The very existence of America as a nation of free people is at stake -- nothing less.
To put it as plainly as I know how: If Obama wins a second term -- America will be done for. That bright shining city on a hill will crumble into dust and the lighthouse of freedom will be doused as America stumbles into the darkness of obscurity winding her way onto the ash heap of history. IT WILL BE OVER.
If there was ever a time for good men to come to the aid of their country, of the constitution, of freedom and liberty, it is NOW.

The Pakistanis Hate Us Now More Than Ever

The Washington Post at the end of this article reinforces what I've been saying on my radio show for years. According to the latest Pew survey, the Pakistanis hate us, they view us as the enemy, and given a choice between an alliance with us and one with the Taliban, they'd choose the latter in a heartbeat.
The Pakistani court and military have waged an all-out assault on the civilian government, and on anyone who assists the U.S. Capture or kill Al-Qaeda leaders. They use pretexts like outdated corruption charges and other criminal allegations to blackmail politicians into alienating the U.S. Virtually all the turmoil between the High Court and the Prime Minister and President centers around one issue—treat anyone who helps the U.S. As an enemy of the state.
Well, the Pakistani citizens overwhelmingly view us as the evil ones, and they detest drone attacks, which is ironic because without drones we'd resort to far less efficient tactics and kill many more innocent civilians. And they even say they don't want the tens of billions of dollars in glorified bribe money we continuously give them, which incidentally is fine with me. What an ungrateful bunch.
The most astonishing part is the survey didn't include the tribal areas near the Afghan border-by far the most radical parts of Taliban country. As you may imagine, this was due to security concerns. That means the survey only covered the moderates, and still staggering 74% view us as the enemy. The real hard-liners couldn't even participate. It's high time we confront the Pakistanis and put a stop to their treating us as a doormat.

saying it has “a good influence on the country,” the report said.
Ron Paul Introduces Audit the Fed Bill to the House

(Washington Times) The House oversight committee voted Wednesday to demand a broad audit of the Federal Reserve system by congressional investigators - a major move lawmakers said is designed to bring accountability to the murky workings of the independent board.
The bill was sponsored by Rep. Ron Paul, the Texas Republican who turned the push for an audit into a powerful campaign slogan and whose criticism of the Fed’s monetary policy drew hundreds of thousands of voters into the political process. It passed by voice vote, signaling the growing sense among lawmakers that the time has come for a full review.
Committee members said they hope for a vote in the full House next month, and the legislation has been sponsored by 263 members, virtually assuring its passage. Federal law right now specifically prohibits such a broad audit, and opponents fear undermining the independence of the Federal Reserve.
If the bill clears the House it will still need a vote in the Senate - but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, has spoken approvingly of an audit in the past.
Stockton Filing Bankruptcy is the Largest US City to Fail
Stockton has become the cities largest in the U.S. to seek bankruptcy protection. And it seems, the city doesn't know who is to blame. Well, let me shed some light. Overspending, unions, and illegal aliens are sucking the city dry. Wasteful programs and corruption has taken a very prominent city into the ghetto. In other words, George Bush is to blame. LOL.
(LATimes) STOCKTON — This Gold Rush-era port city, an epicenter of California's agricultural exports, will become the nation's largest city to seek protection under the U.S. bankruptcy code after its City Council on Tuesday stopped bond payments, slashed employee health and retirement benefits and adopted a day-to-day survival budget. City Manager Bob Deis likened the process to cutting off an arm to save the body.
He is expected to file bankruptcy papers immediately. Most knew what the night held; bankruptcy has been a long time coming. Stockton has been in negotiations with its creditors since late March under AB 506, a new California law requiring mediation before a municipality can file for reorganization of debt. It was the first use of the law, and policy analysts who watched its torturous and tedious progress have titled their report on it "Death by a Thousand Meetings."
Mediations ended Monday at midnight. How Stockton found itself so mired in debt can be seen everywhere in the city's core. There is a sparkling marina, high-rise hotel and promenade financed by credit in the mid-2000s, mere blocks from where mothers won't let their children play in the yard because of violence.
The city made $90 million in drastic cuts from the general fund in the last three years, including reducing the police department by 25%, the fire department by 30%, and cutting pay and benefits to all employees.
There is a state investigation into whether Stockton's financial devastation was entirely due to shortsighted optimism or if there was corruption. The state mediation law requires assigning blame.

(MRC) On the heels of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s latest stupid regulations commanding a shrinkage in the size of sugary drinks in restaurants, movie theaters, and stadiums, the Walt Disney Company has announced it will ban ads for products on its broadcast and online platforms that it has scientifically determined are “junk food” that do not meet the company’s nutrition standards.Not only are the Disney/ESPN officials big Obama supporters, they have filled their ranks with like minded minions.
Curiously, Disney announced that it would begin this new effort immediately – wait, no, at some time in 2015. So why announce this now? Disney isn’t the Nanny State and has every right to proceed with its own standards, even if such supposedly critically necessary new standards, which could be implemented next week, won’t be imposed for another three years. But to what degree will Disney’s politically-correct new standards hurt existing businesses that aren’t at fault?
It is undoubtedly true that most American parents believe Twinkies, super-size French fries and the like would qualify as “junk food.” But the stated ban would also kill commercials for products just don’t fall in this category — Oscar Mayer Lunchables, and Capri Sun juice boxes, and the like.

Clueless on National Security (How the Far Left Misunderstands the Military)

While on vacation last week I caught Mary Boland’s article in the Glenwood Springs Post Independent entitled, Beware The Blowback on National Security. While she implicates the current president in sticking his and the CIA’s noses where she thinks they don’t belong, she also accuses her home country of bullying leftist dictatorships instead of supporting them. Bad America, right, Mary?
I’m no supporter of President Obama, but Ms. Boland is way out of line when she accuses this president of falling in love with his weapon-toys while he seeks to defend this country. Mary is also sure the current administration revels in its love of murdering innocent foreign civilians, but this is way off the mark. She proves her misunderstanding of the armed services and the War on Terror as she defends young Muslim extremists for having nothing to do with 9/11. This fact may be true, but many of them are still plotting to kill us. Which ones conspire to hurt Americans? Only our intelligence community knows for sure. They brief the president, Mary, and he authorizes the strikes. That’s the way it works in the real world. Our bad takes care of their bad. I may think the current president is wrong on virtually every idea and policy, but he is not a sadistic killer, I can’t buy it, sorry.
Mary says that nothing good ever came from covert operations. Is she blind? We won World War II and the Cold War partly because of the competence of our intelligence gatherers. Instead of the freedoms we gain from them, she instead thinks that secret programs keep us less safe. Ms. Boland believes that the world hates us for protecting ourselves. Bad us, right, Mary?
Remember the concept during the Cold War that a strong military defense deters our enemies? Mary chooses not to understand it. She looks past the seriousness of defending the country and the positive, human spirit and camaraderie present in our armed forces. All she can think of is an imaginary, cold-hearted, military industrial complex and its so-called obsession over what she sees as their fun, killing-machine-play-things. How cynical! And, in a twist of logic, she says that investments in our common defense and not the recent wasteful spending to pursue environmental fantasies are what keep our people unemployed. Oh, how horrible we are to preserve our way of life for future generations of Americans, right, Mary?
Many of the extreme progressive crowd today believe in their own self-importance. Mary Boland is one of them. She expresses the ACLU’s and her own trembling fear over the looming possibility of 30,000 U.S. non-military drones soon spying on innocent citizens, like her. If you are an innocent individual, then who cares about you and what you are doing, Mary? These flights would be limited by weight (less than 55 pounds), visual operation only, and restricted to unpopulated areas. Better Google maps. Better law enforcement. Better border security. Do the research like I did, instead of freaking out. Calm down, Mary, don’t you recognize progress when you see it?

The Supreme Court decision on Arizona's immigration law is a travesty. The very fact that the increasingly radical Obama administration had the brazenness to actually sue Arizona after doing nothing to help their cause and thus forcing them to pass this law to begin with is a travesty. But let's analyze the constitutional arguments here.
The assertion that states may not go further than Federal regulations to protect themselves doesn't sit well with me, but I can accept it. The notion that the states cannot even make laws that literally mirror the federal government's is much more difficult to swallow. I'm a big believer in the constitution and the necessity to uphold its integrity at all costs. But I fail to comprehend the threat posed by a state merely rewriting an existing federal law at the state level. The argument can be made that in actually upholds the sovereignty of the federal government, but it certainly doesn't diminish it. But let's concede that for some reason our founding fathers wanted certain issues to remain exclusively federal at all costs. I would still contend that it was never their intent that this concept should apply to the current immigration problem.
My reasoning is simple. It never dawned on the founders that the federal government would be so backward and inept that its goal would be antithetical to its laws, and that they'd have no interest in enforcing the laws on the books and would actually prefer that they not be enforced by anyone. Sure, the founders believed in the federal government's exclusive rights to protect its borders. They figured that the government would fulfill its responsibility. Therefore, the states interference would actually infringe on their territory.
But the current predicament is unprecedented, and untenable. The founders would've considered it a mockery of the constitution. The federal government's inaction is damaging its citizens, forcing them to take action, and when they do, they're under attack. (All for political purposes, by the way—to win Florida.) This was not remotely the founders' intent. When they protected the federal government from states' interference, they didn't mean laws on the books that were ignored. They meant those areas the federal government actually takes seriously and makes an effort to enforce. The Arizona law in no way infringes on federal jurisdiction, and Chief Justice Roberts (whom I still like) and his leftist colleagues got it wrong.
Justice Scalia in his dissent said it all:
“The Government complains that state officials might not heed "federal priorities." Indeed they might not, particularly if those priorities include willful blindness or deliberate inattention to the presence of removable aliens in Arizona. The State's whole complaint--the reason this law was passed and this case has arisen--is that the citizens of Arizona believe federal priorities are too lax. The State has the sovereign power to protect its borders more rigorously if it wishes, absent any valid federal prohibition. The Executive's policy choice of lax federal enforcement does not constitute such a prohibition.”
