High Gas Price WILL Sink Obama. Just Ask Jimmy Carter

You want to know why gas price are sky high. Take a good guess! It is obvious the issue of high gas price will be in the minds of the America voters this November. This occurred during the Carter re-election bid and guess what happen- one term presidency.

Santorum’s Comparison of His Campaign to Ronald Reagan’s 1976 Campaign – Video 3/24/12

He is right; running a moderate certainly didn't work in 2008 when conservatives got their butts handed to them by Obama.

Freedom's Lighthouse - Here is video of Sen. Rick Santorum addressing the “Americans for Prosperity” gathering in Milwaukee, where he invoked Ronald Reagan’s 1976 Presidential Campaign as a comparison to his own attempt to defeat Mitt Romney. Santorum pointed out he has now tied Reagan with 11 primary/caucus victories as a conservative candidate trying to defeat a moderate establishment candidate. Reagan lost the nomination to then-President Gerald Ford in 1976, who went on to lose a close election to Jimmy Carter. Carter’s election led to a disastrous four years for the United States economically and militarily.

Sonny Johnson backstage at Road to Repeal Rally

Thousand's of Tea Party Patriots from across the country gathered for a rally near the U.S. Supreme Court Saturday to demand the unconstitutional government healthcare law be struck down by the court as they hear arguments on Obamacare this week.

Ann-Marie Murrell of Politichicks.tv Interviews rally speakers backstage.

Government run health care is the best example of everything wrong with the federal government. It is financially reckless. No one knows what it will ultimately cost - or where the money will come from.

Additionally, ObamaCare will grow the federal government into every aspect of our lives. It will grow government into a massive bloated bureaucracy making health care decisions that directly affect you. In fact, the federal government must hire more than 17,000 IRS agents to enforce the law. Join us in the fight for liberty and freedom. http://www.teapartypatriots.org or www.roadtorepeal.com

Santorum's Louisiana Victory Speech

Maybe there is hope that we won't end up with Romney and lose like we did in 2008 with the liberal McCain.

Santorum Wins Louisiana

Mitt Romney can not convince conservative voters that he deserves to be the GOP nominee. Romney is a moderate with many flaws. In fact, many feel that Romney need to be the GOP nominee. It is funny how the Washington establishment and GOP elitist continue to ask Santorum to drop out from the race. I would be easier if Gingrich and Paul got out of the race because both men are far behind Romney and Santorum.

(CNN) -- Rick Santorum will win Saturday's Republican presidential primary in Louisiana by winning close to majority of the vote, according to early results and exit polling,

Santorum's win was his fourth in the South, where front-runner Mitt Romney has not been able to connect with conservative voters in the region.

Winning Louisiana big will help fuel Santorum's campaign as the conservative alternative to Romney.

Santorum's win was his fourth in the South, where front-runner Mitt Romney has not been able to connect with conservative voters in the region.

Winning Louisiana big will help fuel Santorum's campaign as the conservative alternative to Romney.

Article In Search Of A Title.

It’s not that I don’t have ideas for article titles. There’s certainly no dearth of material out there. Which, in part, brings me to the subject, which is that it doesn’t matter where I look, nationally, locally, or globally, events scream for attention. I want to fire off articles on each and every one of them.

We are living in very perilous times… far more perilous than most people realize. There is the imminent threat of war in the middle east. Despite Obama the Betrayer doing his very best to prevent Israel from acting in its own best interest (read ‘survival’) by attacking the country whose sworn goal is the destruction of Israel and the murder of every man, woman and child. Iran must be stopped. There’s no equivocating it. We know that Barack MaoBama, despite all the tough words around his mouth, does not have the courage or the leadership to attack Iran and end her nuclear ambitions. In fact, many feel that Obama would rather see Israel destroyed. Perhaps, so does Israel. And no, they won’t give us or anyone else warning.

Could you imagine entrusting the jihadist-penetrated White House with Israeli state secrets? Or the increasingly politicized panty-waist chair-warmers at Obama’s Pentagon? Obama recently reversed his order that denied Israeli access to in-flight refueling. It wasn’t for his love of Israel, you may rest assured. It may, however, give him an excuse to piggyback his way into the Iran affair and come riding in behind the truly massive US firepower concentrated in the Mediterranean off of Iran and the US troops reported to be staging in the area. He will then be able to boast  once again, taking credit for the efforts of others as he has so often done.

This nation has never been in as much real danger as it now finds itself. We’re in a daily war for the soul of our county against forces who would see us enslaved and our country in everlasting darkness. Sounds almost apocalyptic, doesn’t it? Historians are fond of citing stories of world-altering events. It’s what we would call 20-20 hindsight. It’s much scarier and more vivid when we’re living these events. It’s easy to imagine the fear and unease that must have permeated the lives of those living in Europe in the years just prior to World War 2.

There’s plenty of unease to go around here, in our country. We have a government in power whose only goal is the destruction of our way of life… with the unholy alliance between the avowed Marxists of Barack Hussein Obama’s government, the craven, unprincipled symbionts of the so-called main stream media, and the equally unprincipled labor unions to which Obama is beholden.

We have an ’economic recovery’ which is not. Academic theoreticians lauding fractional increases in unemployment and meaningless statistical nonsense while 44 million Americans have either dropped off the unemployment radar or are underemployed. American business is reeling from the absolute onslaught of Barack Maobama’s extra-constitutional regulatory oppression. Our energy sector and our military are equally under assault by our would-be dictator. Pretty grim picture, is it not?

We, as Americans, have the power to change this. Our focus, our only focus, has to be the defeat of the Obama Marxist machine.

I've often thought about what ideals in modern society bug me the most. Of course, modern liberalism or leftism is the driving factor for change, and therefore for the direction of social mores. What is it about modern leftist thought that seems so wrong? Thinking through this question, I find one common theme that points to systemic problems with leftist dogma. This is the philosophical fallacy of relativism.

Relativism
This ideal is fundamental to leftist thought. Relativism stems from the early Greek sophists. It is the belief that different individuals and groups of people can have different standards for how to act. On the surface, this seems an obvious and plausible explanation of reality. However, relativism isn't a mere observation, it is an idea which guides action; it is a means to an end.

The relativism from the sophists raises an important moral problem. If there is no right or wrong way to act or behave, what is to keep some people from imposing their beliefs on others? If any action is valid, where is the moral anchor for society?

The main problem with relativism is its duplicity. Within its philosophy lies an inherent double standard between what a relativist may believe and how a relativist behaves. (I'm not the first, or only one to see the inherent double standard of relativist thought. Even the book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Philosophy notes the inherent duplicity of relativism.)

Relativism is fallacious, precisely because of its inherent duplicity. It simply cannot serve as a means to produce an end because those who control the means cannot, by definition, live by their own standards.

What does the bankrupt philosophy of relativism have to do with modern leftist dogma? Everything.

Constitutional Interpretation
Modern leftist dogma insists that the US Constitution is a living document, that it can and must be interpreted according to modern mores. More importantly, it must follow leftist dogma at all costs, even if the Constitution itself doesn't support such an interpretation. In short, leftists feel they can ignore the Constitution at whim, unless, of course, it serves their ideology to stick to it.

If the Constitution is a living document, then the federal government could assume all sorts of power not written into the Constitution. This is a dangerous trend, because the government could, for example, take money from the richest half of people and spread the wealth around. It could take over private corporations, like car companies, and force them to make crappy cars that no one wants to buy. It could meddle with the production and distribution of energy to the point where no one could afford to drive to work. It could borrow trillions of dollars and bring the country to the brink of bankruptcy. It could order the assassination of US citizens without due process. It could start wars without actually declaring a war.

Oh wait. Those have already happened. So much for Constitutional integrity.

Social Nihilism
Modern leftist dogma, relying on relativism, gave birth to the doctrine of "if it feels good, do it," and the "me generation." With such an interpretation, anything an individual does or thinks may be valid. The duplicity of this position arises when someone actually does or thinks something outside of leftist dogma. Then, the leftist double standard rises up to stamp out the "injustice."

Some examples:
If Bill Maher calls women the most vile and offensive names, leftists laugh and call him brilliant. If Rush Limbaugh calls a woman a slut who admitted having sex with a lot of men, he is censured, attempts are made to throw him off the air, he receives death threats, and the LA city council votes that free speech isn't really free.

If a gay activist calls Carrie Prejean the most vile and offensive names because of her beliefs, he is hailed as a defender of justice and equality. If Carrie Prejean states that she believes marriage is between a man and a woman, she is railroaded out of her career and publicly humiliated.

If a Black man shoots and kills another Black man, the media treats the incident as a statistic, largely ignored. If a Hispanic man shoots and kills a black man, the media and Al Sharpton descend on the scene to stir up civil unrest and riots.

If a woman calls her child a "group of cells" and aborts it, leftists applaud her courageous decision. If a church dares to call the "group of cells" a child, the church, all its members, and any institutions the church may support are all ridiculed, brought under political pressure, or forced to shut down, despite the constitutional 1st Amendment guaranteeing the right to free exercise of religion.

Political Correctness
The other day, I was talking with one of my students about fossil fuels. She immediately stated the mainline, leftist meme, saying how evil fossil fuels were for causing global warming. After talking with her a bit more, I realized that she had absolutely no idea about the problems with energy production, but had learned only the politically correct meme about global warming. She had no idea about what fossil fuels were, how they were made, or how we get them out of the ground. She insisted that electric cars could save us from global warming until I explained that most electricity is made by burning fossil fuels. She had no idea of the inefficiencies of converting energy from the wind or the sun, and how much energy it requires to produce such inefficient energy producers. She was scared spitless with the idea of nuclear power and was shocked to discover that a good portion of the electricity in the Phoenix valley comes from the local nuclear plant.

My student had learned nothing of how the world works from her time spent in high school. She had, however, learned the dogma pervading K-12 textbooks. In a word, the leftist insistence on inculcating politically correct ideals into young students has produced an ignorant population, dependent on ideals rather than ideas.

Where's the double standard? Leftists teach that those who don't believe as they do are stupid, while leftist dogma perpetrates ignorance of the highest order.

Modern sophistry, the ideology of the left, maintains a double standard which, due to its own dogma, it cannot see. Modern leftists then turn around and condemn others with opposing views for not having the same "standards" as their own.

Gingrich Needs 25% of the Vote in Louisiana Today to Qualify for Delegates – 3/24/12

I hope he gets them and keeps going. A brokered convention may be the only way to stop Romney at this point.

POLITICO: Newt Gingrich spent an entire week campaigning in the Pelican State. But he may not win a single delegate in Saturday’s primary, once again leading to questions about the end of his campaign.

There are 46 delegates at stake in Louisiana, of which 20 will be awarded proportionally based on Saturday’s primary. Party rules require that a candidates nab at least 25 percent of the popular vote to qualify for at-large delegates, state GOP Director Jason DorĂ© said. Some delegates will remain unbound if candidates don’t meet the 25 percent threshold.

The remaining delegates will be divvied through a caucus and state convention next month. . . . . Read More

Coolest SOB In The Conservative Blogosphere Contest

There are thousands of super cool personalities in the conservative blogosphere. This award is not only an attempt to find the coolest, but also to celebrate the rest of them.

When I first started blogging, I sent a tip to Andrew Brietbart on just on a whim. It was before he became so famous by bringing down ACORN, but he still was a big time blogger. I almost fell down when I received a return email. I first thought it was a robo email until I read it. He thanked me and said that he had already run story, but that he appreciated my effort.

I remember thinking what a cool SOB. He took time out of his busy schedule to answer an email from a nobody blogger who was a stranger to boot.

He is not the only blogger out there that excels in class, common courtesy, etiquette, selflessness and a genuine respect for the efforts of other conservative bloggers -- no matter how minimum.

So in honor of him and other classy SOBs like him, I am kicking off the first annual "Coolest SOB In The Conservative Blogoshpere" award.

If you know someone deserving of this award enter them by adding their name or pseudonym, plus a link to their blog in the comment box at im41.com.

I will leave the contest open for entries until the end of April and then put them up for a vote.

There can be only one.

Rick Santorum loses it in phone interview with Neil Cavuto over Obama endorsement (Video)

To me his answers made perfect sense, but that is not how the establishment GOP (Fox News) are going to spin it. They are going to keep pushing this until they make him out to to be a flake -- which he is definitely not.

So with that in mind, it is not looking good for Rick Santorum; now that he is imploding -- thanks to Fox News and Matt Drudge -- the only chance we have to not ending up with the sure loser Mitt McCain is a brokered convention. And the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Facing Heat over Gas Price, Obama Promises Half a Pipeline

This coming election will be about the high gas prices. Americans are experiencing 2008 again. While it too George Bush an executive order to bring down the price of gas, Obama is forcing us to accept alternative energy. The American people are idiots if they allow Obama to win in November while gas prices are out of control. Sooner of later, the gas pumps will dictate how we vote in November. This is Obama's hope and change.

(Reuters) - Standing in front of a row of pipes, President Barack Obama pledged on Thursday to accelerate approval of the southern leg of the Keystone XL pipeline, seeking to deflect criticism that his rejection of the full project helped drive up gasoline prices.

The campaign-style stop was immediately dismissed as a stunt by Republicans, saying that Obama doesn't have the authority to really jump start the project. Analysts say it won't likely be finished until 2014 at the earliest.

Rising fuel costs are threatening to derail Obama's hopes of winning re-election in November, and Republicans have honed in on his decision to block TransCanada Corp's Canada-to-Texas pipeline as a sign that his energy priorities were hurting America.

U.S. gasoline prices have jumped nearly 30 cents in the past month, pushing the national average to $3.87 a gallon, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Corruptio Optimi Est Pessima

Corruptio Optimi Est Pessima

(The best things become, when corrupted, the worst.)
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

The title of this commentary is a Latin phrase.  It is loaded with meaning for America today.  Liberally translated, it means:  When the best things become corrupt, it is then that they become the worst things.

As I survey our country, America, it is clear we have a government that has deteriorated from the best to the worst.  Well, not THE worst ... yet.  But unless some correction is made to it this November, there can be no doubt it will become the worst Americans have ever experienced.

The American government was constructed by our forefathers to be a representative republic based on the Constitution. That constitution was intended to be the law of the land.  But, just as the men who actually created our government warned us, it would remain a republic only so long as we could keep (or maintain) it as a republic.

Many decades ago, I had great admiration for a German auto company.  They built the Volkswagen "Beetle."  They sold millions of them all over the world.  I bought a brand new one, right off the showroom floor, in 1971.   It was the perfect car.  Mine even had air conditioning, which I had added at the dealership before I picked it up.  I actually bought the Beetle, sight unseen, on the phone.  I did not actually see, or drive, the car until I went to the dealership to sign the papers and pick it up.

In the seven years I owned the car, it required no repairs due to breakdowns or malfunctions ... none.  I replaced the muffler once, or twice, and gave it the standard tune-ups at the proper times  -- and that was it.

Why in the world would a man feel comfortable purchasing an automobile on the phone, sight unseen? Volkswagen had it RIGHT.  No pun intended, but by 1971, Volkswagen had the "bugs out of the Beetle."  They had the body design down cold.  That little air-cooled engine was geared to never reach a point at which it was performing under stress.  As a result, the longevity of those little engines was, and is, legendary.

For a long time, new Volkswagen Beetles of the  designed cherished by the public disappeared from US highways though they continued to be built in a few countries south of the United States.

Now the Beetle is, again, a familiar sight on American roadways. It has been redesigned both for aesthetics and to meet our federal government guidelines/laws.  But, as a former owner of a 1971 Beetle, they are not the same car ... not by a long shot.  I am sure the new Beetle is a fine and even wonderful automobile, but it is NOT the legendary Beetle.  Just to be clear ... this is my opinion as the former owner of one of those legendary little cars.

Perfection cannot be improved upon.

The US government has been tinkered with almost from the moment of its conception.  Wise men, or those who think themselves wise (and have become fools in so doing) have continuously sought to improve upon the work of America's forefathers.  Since the Bill of Rights was ratified, the constitution has been amended 17 times.

The point I'm attempting to make is this:  When you "mess" with perfection, you get imperfection.

Allow me to point out the obvious.  Our physical government has become bloated and unmanageable, overbearing, over reaching, intrusive, power hungry, aloof, and cut off from the people it is supposed to govern.   Legions of "wise men" continue to demand changes in the American government that have not only bestowed more and more power on government bureaucrats, but has actually turned our system of government on it's head.

Originally, the federal government was designed to be an agent of the states, to act at the behest of the states, with the states having ultimate -- and complete -- authority over the federal government.

Today, all 50 states answer to the federal government and cower in the shadow of the ever-present intimidation cast by the enormous power the omnipotence of that vastly too powerful central government.

That which was the best is quickly becoming the worst, or as some would argue -- HAS BECOME the worst.

Yes, there was a time in America when the states told the federal government how things would be run.  Not so today.  Today America's strong central government can FORCE states to do it’s bidding even though the US Constitution plainly says that particular power was left to the states.

Example:  The states of Texas and South Carolina BOTH have recently been told by the federal government that they cannot require a photo ID to vote in their states.  Another is the order from the federal government that the people of the states must, by law, purchase health Insurance.  It is not a suggestion; it is an order -- the defiance of which will bring a fine on the individual citizens who refuse to comply.

The two examples above are just a tiny, infinitesimal, example of the thousands of such commands, edicts, LAWS that yoke American citizens today.  Thousands upon thousands of such laws weighing down America today never, ever, underwent scrutiny by the people's Congress.  They were never debated in the House of Representatives or the Senate.  They were simply issued by agencies of the federal government whose rules and regulations have the "power of law."

The myriad of federal agencies was the work of men who sought to improve the federal government at the expense of the freedom of the people of America.  Ultimately, they did not improve America but changed America's government into a sort Frankenstein beast, of which -- the people are afraid.

Corruptio optimi est pessima.  The best things become, when corrupted, the worst.

Contrary to what we hear so much today -- "the government is broken" -- I'd reply that it is NOT broken.  It is alive, huge -- and GROWING.

In my opinion, it cannot be "fixed."  A Constitutional Convention is required to, at the very least, tap the "undo" key -- or "reboot" -- America to its default condition.  But that will never happen.

Modern Americans are incapable of selecting a group of citizens charged with purging our government of the freedom killing agencies that have all but enslaved a once free America.

America's collapse is a certainty.  When it happens, may God help those who will struggle to make the original America rise from the ashes of its last grotesque iteration.

There Can Be Only One

There Can Be Only One
The Russian Bear Loosed ... Again

A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

Nature abhors a vacuum.  When the current leadership of the United States decided the US would no longer maintain its leadership position in the world, a momentary vacuum was created.  As of March 4th, that vacuum was filled.  Vladimir Putin has returned to the Kremlin.  (Geez.  Even the word "Kremlin" causes my heart to go cold and my skin to crawl.)

The Russian bear, under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, is more than ready to take over the world leadership role from the United States.  That will mean that Mr. Obama can have the back seat he seems to crave so much.

If you are old enough to remember the Cold War, you certainly must be asking yourself if Putin's election as President of Russia means the kick-off of Cold War II.  The return to a bi-polar world could be just around the corner.

Putin has remarked that he sees the United States as a parasite on the world.  Now, that's not a very friendly thing to say, right?  Nevertheless, he said it, and, frankly, I believe he meant it.

Relations with Putin's Russia is going to get very complicated very fast.  Putin is known to long for the old Mother Russia and the gone -- but certainly not forgotten -- Soviet Union.  He'd like, very much, to reconstitute the old USSR.  And I expect he will attempt to, at least, recreate as much of it as he can.

Dealing with Putin is going to be tough -- very tough.  However, America is blessed with a President who is a "word man" and not an "action man."  I truly suspect Obama believes he can just overwhelm Putin with his soaring oratory and overcome him with just the weight of his WORDS.   As my British friends would say:  "Not Bloody Likely!"

Putin TALKS tough, and goes to great lengths to make sure he ACTS tough -- and is SEEN acting tough.

Obama plays basketball and golf.

See how perception can have such a tremendous effect on foreign policy and practically everything else a country does outside its own borders.

Putin can, and will, make Obama's life much more complicated that it was before March 4th.

Right at, or near, the top of the list of problems Obama is going to have with Putin is the U.S. plans for the missile defense system deployment in Europe.  Even before Putin walks into his old/new office, that missile defense problem is deadlocked.  At least it is deadlocked as long as Obama remains President of the United States.

That may change in November -- if the US voters show Obama the door and place a stronger President in the Oval Office.  A new President may just say the heck with Russia and deploy the missile defense system and let the Russians howl all they want.

I suspect that, right off the bat, Putin will want to show off his Russian military might to the rest of the world.  Once again those Bear bombers will be bumping into US airspace off Alaska and they will most certainly be skirting our airspace along the eastern seaboard just as they did for decades during Cold War One.

Look for Putin to scrape together another Russian Navy from the scrap heap of a navy he now has.  If he is able to keep his nuclear submarines from exploding, he might even be able to get one or two out to blue water -- before they sink or blow up.

Never fear.  The Russians can be an industrious people.  It will not take long for them to rebuild their military and with the cash pouring in from their oil sales they will be able to afford it.

Just think about it.  While the US is cutting back on the size of our military the Russians will be working like crazy to build their military UP --  bigger and better than that of the old Soviet Union.  That ought to make for some sweet dreams tonight -- especially for us old codgers who remember what it was like facing down the Russians/Soviets at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin about fifty years ago.   Americans and Soviets were eyeball to eyeball, toe to toe, both sides leaning forward ... waiting, just waiting -- for the Third World War to begin.   Believe me when I tell you -- I do not long for the return of those days and that kind of international stress and strife.

Putin is a man of few words ... far fewer than Obama.  And, unlike Obama, he does not employ nuance.  Nosiree.  He can say Nyet! (NO!) quite clearly and forcefully, thank you!   Putin is famous (or infamous) for being intractable.  When he DOES say "nyet" ... the negotiations are ended, period.

The US can certainly expect to have problems with Putin's government in the Middle East.  That is already clear.  We've learned, just this week, that Russian troops have been deployed to Syria.  The Russian Navy was been represented in Syrian waters for a while now.

What we are about to see, I believe, is a rebuilding of the Russian superpower under Putin.  There is simply no way that can be good for America.

What will be even worse for America is to have Obama reelected and have to watch as Putin chews him up and spits him out.

Chicago Style

(Click cartoon for larger size)

Michelle Obama dropped by the David Letterman show on Monday to explain to America that, when not vacationing or making fundraising trips, she and Barry are putting lots of time and effort into raising their two beloved daughters, "What's Her Name" and "The Other One."

Specifically, Michelle says that it's their goal to raise Sasha and Malia with South Chicago Values - because really, who doesn't think of family values when they think of South Chicago? Well okay, first they think of political corruption, gang activity, violence, riots, and crime...but then they think of family values.

Specifically, the family of Al Capone- or one of the many other Chicago families who redefined a "Sunday Drive" to mean standing on the sideboard of a speeding car while you blasted your criminal or political rivals (and honest citizens) with tommy guns. (By the way, this may also explain why Eric Holder is anxious to smuggle sideboards to Mexican drug lords).

Of course, the Obamas are starting the girls off on "Chicago Values" slowly and presumably with less bloodshed. As an example, Michelle says she instructs the girls "on how they talk to us...it's respect. And then we take away their stuff if they don't do it."

Nice.

And isn't that pretty much the same deal that the Obamas are now offering the rest of the American people - "Show us respect or we'll take away your stuff?"

But frankly, Hope n' Change isn't too worried about the Obama girls - because along with their
"Chicago Style Values" they're also living lives of almost unimaginable luxury and pampering.

For instance, 13 year old Malia has been spending her spring break in Oaxaca, Mexico without parental supervision. And while we'd hate to speculate about what sort of mischief a 13-year old girl could get into in a spring break party town where Tequila flows as freely as Whitehouse lies, we're comforted by the fact that Malia's father - who has previously voiced worries about her getting knocked up "by mistake" - insisted that she take plenty of "protection" along.

Making it just a bit confusing whether she's being raised with Chicago Style values... or Georgetown University values.

Make Congress Work! – An Initiative by No Labels

by Mark A. Cohen

No Labels is an organization, not a movement, which asks politicians to put aside (but not give up) their party labels in order to seek a spirit of bi-partisanship and a will to work together to solve our nation’s problems. It sounds perfect for me, but I hold a healthy skepticism for No Labels because they formed in 2010 (and not in 2005 or 2006) in response to the nation’s partisan atmosphere. The calls for President Bush’s public humiliation and hanging for war crimes didn’t motivate them to organize. The right’s resistance to President Obama’s policies did. Forgive me, but this sticks in my craw a bit. Nevertheless, I choose to keep my eyes open. One of the No Labels founders, William Galston, a former advisor to President Clinton, appeared on CSPAN on Mar. 19, 2012. On the Washington Journal program he revealed some interesting ideas, and also some weak ones.

Visit their Make Congress Work! web site and you will see their 12 methods:

1. No Budget, No Pay states that if they can’t pass a budget and all of their spending bills on time, issuance of government paychecks for the members of Congress stops. A terrific idea, but I doubt whether they’ll pass it. They didn’t ask me, but I like it and vote yes!

2. Up or Down Vote on Presidential Appointments: Here’s a knee-jerk reaction to Republicans holding up Mr. Obama’s appointments. One wonders why no one thought of this when the Democrats resisted President Bush’s every move. For that reason, no on this one.

3. Fix the Filibuster: Another way to support this president? Isn’t the entire mainstream media enough? I agree in general, but due to the bad timing, I don’t agree with it.

4. Empower the Sensible Majority: Sensible in whose eyes? Seems reasonable, but this will favor the Democrats after the 2012 election. I vote no.

5. Make Members Come to Work: What a concept! Make the House and Senate coordinate their schedules and work three 5-day work weeks a month. Awesome, they should pass this one!

6. Question Time for the President: Great idea! I agree, this would force the members to face the president and each other. Yes!

7. Fiscal Report to Congress: Hear it. Read it. Sign it. : No Labels calls for a non-partisan leader to offer a televised financial report to the nation, then leaders of both parties sign it. Yes, it’s a good idea. It can’t hurt. Do it.

8. No Pledge but the Oath of Office: This is in direct opposition to Grover Norquist’s petition when he asked leaders in Congress to sign his pledge to not raise taxes. I agree with Mr. Norquist – and the Tea Party - on this. The American people say enough with requests for more taxes, let us keep most of the money we earn. Stay out of my pockets. Number 8 is a big thumbs down with me.

9. Monthly Bipartisan Gatherings: This is like a team-building event at work. It strikes me as a little silly, but it lands on the plus side. Yes, this is fine.

10. Bipartisan Seating: Each member should sit with at least one member of another party. This is silly. Our representatives, if that’s who they really are, deserve the right to sit anywhere. Tell them the rule forcing all members to sit with members of his or her own party is over. Sit wherever you want. I say no because of the way No Labels worded it.

11. Bipartisan Leadership Committee: Another fine idea… But it supports Democrats after the 2012 election. To be fair, pass it in 2014 or 2015. Not now.

12. No Negative Campaigns Against Incumbents: Guess who this favors in the upcoming 2012 presidential election? In fairness, number twelve asks better behavior of every person running against any incumbent, including Congressmen. But, who defines the word negative? This is subjective. No way.

Not bad, my total is five in favor, seven against. I wonder what Congress will do with these proposals?

Is The Obama Administration Evil?

Is The Obama Administration Evil?
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

Back in the 1970's, a novel was written by "Thomas Luke," a nom de plume (by the way) for Graham Masterton.  The title of the book was/is "The Hell Candidate."

The premise of the story is that a candidate for President of the United States makes a pact with Satan to secure the presidency.  The reader follows "the hell candidate" through the campaign, which, of course, he wins.

OK.  Before you ask -- yes, I did read the novel, back when it was published in the seventies.  No pun intended -- that cussed book made a heck of an impression.   It was right up my alley -- politics and religion, er, possibly NON-religion?  Whatever.

("The Hell Candidate" by Thomas Luke is available at Amazon HERE.

So why am i making reference to Mr. Masterton's book?  Because America is in the midst of a presidential campaign and I am beginning to feel as if there is another Hunter Peal in the running.  (Hunter Peal was the hell candidate in the book of the same name.)

Look.  I've been around for a rather long time and this presidential campaign isn’t my first rodeo.  Even before I could vote I was helping at my local Board of Elections on election nights.  I was HOOKED!  I still am -- sorry to say.

Where am I going with this?  Here -- Obamacare is a piece of legislation drafted in Hell and, if NOT signed by Satan himself, then it certainly has his seal of approval stamped (in glowing red letters) diagonally across the signature page.

Under Obamacare I am going to have to pay for abortions that my faith tells me are flat-out wrong.  I stand with the Catholic Church in their opposition to Obamacare's forcing them to violate their religious faith and commit a sin.

Now we learn, that under Obamacare, voluntary sterilization of young women (and young men) will be offered free for women -- girls-- as young as fifteen years of age!

Just so I am clear on this -- in my opinion -- this is pure evil.

It violates the Free Exercise of Religion clause in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.  It will force millions of the Judeo-Christian faith to violate their religion -- to commit sin.  To force millions of people to endanger their very souls is nothing short of demonic.  Obamacare absolutely has Satan's endorsement.

The man behind this mass abomination is Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States -- and -- current candidate for a second four-year term.

The scriptures tell us plainly a man cannot serve two masters.   So, it seems to me, that folks of the Judeo-Christian faith have to make a decision, no matter their political party preference, this November.  The choice is plain.  We people of faith must decide whether we stand with our God, or with Obama.  As a Christian myself, the choice is very clear and very stark.  It is a choice between good and evil.

The progressives, the socialists, the secularists in the Obama Administration and in the Democratic Party are fueling this drive toward population control (For that's what it really is.) in the US.

How long, we must ask, before the voluntary sterilization becomes mandatory?  It is a fair question considering how the left uses incrementalism to advance their agenda.
The "environuts" seem to feel there are simply too many people on the planet and to save the earth it is absolutely essential to get rid of as many human beings as possible.  Better yet, stop them from ever being born

Yes, there really is a war on Christianity in America and it is leading toward religious persecution for Christians and Jews in America.  The Obama Administration is the prime mover, Satan's generals, if you please.

It is past time for America to wake up and see the Obama Administration for what it really is -- evil.

It is clear that America is already on the road to a godless society -- and -- a totalitarian society.  The Obama Administration is shredding our constitutional rights.  Obama has, himself, made clear that he chafes under the constraints of the Constitution and especially the Bill of Rights.

Do not count on the Supreme Court overturning Obamacare.  If I were a betting man, I'd bet that they will not do so.  The ONLY way this nation will be rid of that abomination from hell is to repeal it outright.

I, along with a few million of my fellow Christians, am going to the polls in November to vote against evil.  As we have been warned for a very long time, all that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

There is the story told of the mother of a boxer at ringside watching her boxer son being beaten to a pulp in the ring.  She notices that beside her is a priest.  So, in desperation she turns and says, "Oh, father, won't you please pray for my son.  You see the beating he is taking."  The priest replies, "Sure, I'll pray for him -- but it would really help if your son would fight."

There's a lesson for folks of the Judeo-Christian faith in this story.  Praying is good, but it would be a great help if we got up off out backsides and put up a real fight.

House Republican Freshmen Press Conference on Repealing IPAB

This week, House Republicans will vote to repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) provision of the president's health care law. This board of 15 unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats would come between doctors and patients as they make health care decisions. This is irresponsible, dangerous, and harmful to our nation's seniors. We're working to reform Medicare--not blindly hack away at it.

Doonesbury's Momma...

Award winning Leftist Cartoonist whose logic defies logic.

To understand this comic's logic, instead of defending a political position... any position, the Leftist resorts to childish name calling; If you're conservative or watch Fox News, you're racist and dumb.

What's that? Independent voters or those who do not engage in political debate don't want to be racist and dumb?  Well then, vote liberal!  Do not think.  Do not engage in a discussion wherein you may hear an opposing view, say by watching the only network not in bed with leftist views.  Only obey views the Leftist approves.

Which side is searching for headlines that vindicate their viewpoints?  The one who resorts to name calling.

Leftist cartoonist Trudeau must only search for headlines which validate his leftist views as he's no understanding the only discussion Americans have now or ever had is:

Individualism (wherein the individual owns and controls his / her own fate, whose subsequent right is served by society and protected by government.  Limited government, maximum personal freedom and individual responsibility.)

versus

Collectivism (wherein the individual is forced by government to serve society by surrendering his right of individual control over his / her own fate.  Maximum government, limited personal freedom and individual responsibility.)

In true collectivist form, there is no other side.

Perhaps the award winning cartoonist is waiting for a retort on his intellectual level, like "Your MOMMA!"

A Sure-Fire Litmus Test to Identify Modern Liberalism

Modern liberalism pretends to the ideals of tolerance and equality. Yet modern liberalism can be identified, without fail, by its intolerance of religion. Modern liberalism cannot abide religion, especially Christianity, because religion competes ideologically with leftist liberal dogma. Modern liberalism can always be identified, and its most harmful doctrines exposed, by simply looking at how much modern liberals condemn religion.

As a sure-fire litmus test of modern liberal ideals, you can know with complete certainty that any of its doctrines is one-hundred and eighty degrees from reality by asking the simple question: "Does this ideal inspire liberals to condemn religion?"

Note that many churches have caved into the expediency of political correctness. The attacks I mention are against religion in general, not against many individual Christian churches, although some churches such as the Catholic Church or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints do come under fire because they, out of all of Christianity, maintain competing doctrines against leftist ideals.

Here are a few cases in point:

Abortion is a major component of modern liberal dogma. There are fewer rabid humans in the world than feminists defending their sacred right to kill babies in the seductive guise of women's rights. Inevitably, any discussion of the life of a fetus is met with anti-religious rhetoric.

For example, Joy Behar, of the TV show The View, said this about a Virginia law to require women to have an ultrasound when considering whether or not to have an abortion: "It's like, what are we? What is this, the Taliban now? What are we, in Afghanistan? Where are we exactly in this country?" (Ah yes - the old plea to demonize religion into its most abhorrent forms in order to shame religious people into being more "tolerant.")

An online blogger put it this way: "The "pro-life" movement's drive to save babies has no noble purpose, because the real goals are to bring more souls to Jesus, punish women, and stamp out pleasure." (Because abortion is such a pleasure? Or maybe the pleasure comes from uninhibited hedonism with no consequences?)

Many modern liberals ultimately resort to slogans such as "the Bible: a book written by sheep for sheep." (Because blindly following leftist dogma is so much more enlightening?)

Same sex marriage is another up-and-coming modern liberal doctrine that has little room for tolerance of opposing viewpoints. After Proposition 8 passed in California, constitutionally defining marriage as between a man and a woman, gay activists went on the rampage - not against the vast majority of Blacks who overwhelmingly voted for Proposition 8 - but against, you guessed it, the Catholics and the Mormons.

One video went so far as to depict Mormon missionaries as Gestapo-like, barging into peoples' homes to demand that they vote against gay marriage. The liberalized campaign succeeded in demonizing the Mormons, and religion in general, because modern liberal ideals can only succeed through the subversion of religion.

In another highly publicized ordeal, the left brutalized Miss California Carrie Prejean, for her honest answer to the loaded question of whether or not she supported same sex marriage. She stated, in the Miss America pageant, that she believed marriage was between a man and a woman. The outcry and furor came swiftly, ruining her career. (From the reaction of the gay activists, you'd think that she'd confessed to being a cannibalistic version of Hitler.) She was excoriated for her views (there are Facebook hate sites dedicated to her) but what also suffered under the wrath of modern liberals was her religion.

We can find anti-religious rhetoric among the secular community. Of course secularism condemns religion in general, but the truly converted secularists, the Born Again Atheists, attack religion with all the zeal of the true fanatic. These are the atheists who cannot leave religion alone and who simply cannot abide living in the same world with people who are religious.

As one blogger noted: "Religious nuts just rang my doorbell and woke me up. I wanted to kill them. Instead, I said 'May Satan be with you.' Then slammed the door." (That'll teach them for "pushing" religion in his face!)

Or, how about this gem complaining about Christians celebrating Christmas: "[It's] the time of year when religious f$^k nuts come out of the wood work with their complete lack of education and further prove their stupidity by complaining about things they have no clue about." (By the way, foul language is endemic to leftist dogma. Having no moral base, modern liberals turn to the lowest common denominator of language to prove their sophistication.)

As a last example, take the success over the popular Broadway Musical, The Book of Mormon Musical. Religion, especially religion attached to organized religion - widely perceived as cannon fodder for liberal jokes - is thoroughly debased by the creators of the vile and nihilistic cartoon South Park. Full of vulgarity (endemic to leftist thought, remember?) and juvenile jokes about Mormon beliefs, this musical appeals to the basest desires to demonize someone, anyone, in the name of political correctness. We can't make fun of Blacks or women or perverts or gays or animal activists or porn stars or anyone on the liberal empowerment propaganda team, but liberals can at least make fun of a people who generally happen to believe their religion (and who are at the bottom of the hit list among many practicing Christians).

And that is the true nature of leftist dogma. Religion must be subverted in order for modern liberalism to thrive because, when held up side-by-side in a fair comparison, liberals know that their doctrine is morally bankrupt nihilism that cannot stand up under close scrutiny, nor under the moral constant.

Freedom Is ALWAYS Better

Freedom Is ALWAYS Better
A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm becoming more than a little suspicious of the government's motives when it comes to all the deeply secret things they are doing, or reported to be doing, to protect me and my fellow Americans.

There is an article HERE  entitled: "The NSA Is Building the Country’s Biggest Spy Center (Watch What You Say)"  that you need to read.  The article was brought to my attention by my good friend TEXAS FRED.

We have been telling our readers for many months of our concern that the US federal
Big Brother Is Listening!
government is overstepping its authority and trampling on the constitutional rights of American citizens.   Of the most immediate concern to me is the government's monitoring of American's private communications.  If the article mentioned above is to be believed, now the government plans to not only monitor our communications, they are planning on storing them so they may be scanned at a later date.

My concern is that we, as a nation, have crossed an un-crossable barrier.   And now that we have, somehow, managed to cross that barrier, we can never hope to go back.

I am very troubled that the United States is on a steep dive into totalitarian governance.  Notice:  I did not say a slippery slope, I said ... a steep dive!

We took the plunge on September 12, 2001.

We made a hell of a mistake -- in my judgment.

We have given up our freedom and liberty, bit by bit, little by little, hardly noticing at first -- if at all -- and now we are on the verge of losing ALL our freedom.

A few people are beginning to take exception to US government intrusion in their lives.  More will take notice over time.  The question is:  when will it be too late? Even more important -- is it already too late to reverse the loss of America's freedom and liberty?

The first defense the government throws up, when confronted concerning their overbearing intrusion, is that our enemies are doing it.  Therefore, we must do it to be able to stay even with them and PROTECT American citizens.  They insist that it is all for the protection of American citizens.

All police officers know what "Protective Custody" is.  A person is place in police custody to protect them from known or unknown dangers.  That "protectee" loses his/her freedom just the same as a prisoner in a jail.   He's protected, alright, but he is also imprisoned.  He has lost his freedom.  And this is what worries me about the government's ever growing grasp of power over the American people.

Look.  9/11 scared the living daylights out of, I daresay, the majority of Americans.  (Some of us just got mad as heck and vowed -- and insisted on  revenge.)   Americans were afraid.  We were blindsided, sucker-punched, surprised.  Fear set in.

Fear is a great motivator.  It is also a great TOOL in the hands of ruthless men.  Suddenly, patriotism was defined as granting government all the power it asked for to ... do what?  PROTECT US ... to place America in protective custody.  And it did.

For a time, Americans forgot, or simply refused to remember, the old adage about giving up freedom for security with the end result being -- the loss of BOTH.

Some Americans did not forget.  Some Americans began, almost immediately, to cry "Wait!  This is too much!  Freedom is at risk here!"  Over the past decade the watchword among Americans has been "whatever it takes."

What it took -- was our freedom!

Today, we have a choice.  We can choose to lose our freedom to our enemies -- or -- we can choose to lose our freedom to our very own government.  It is really quite simple.

Some choice, huh?  Those who advocate giving the government whatever it needs to protect us, assure us there is no need to fear our own government.  They say our government will never turn on it's citizens.

How sure of that ARE you?  Are you sure enough to bet your life on it?  You'd better be -- because that is exactly what you are betting ... your freedom, your liberty, your life.

You want to see what it cost America to win and preserve that freedom?  I invite you to go to any national cemetery, like the one at Arlington, Virginia,  and view the rows upon rows of white crosses and Stars of David.  If you can do that and not shed a tear or, at least, choke-up, then there simply has to be something wrong with you.

The Americans who preceded us gave their blood and fortunes to win and preserve our freedom and liberty -- and in one decade, one ten year period, we decided to begin giving it away, bit by bit because those people we sent to Washington, to represent our interests, assure us we can trust them to never turn on the American people.  They swore to watch over us.

The question today is:  Who's watching the watchers?

The trade-off has always, always, been simple.  It is late, but Americans must decide which is better ... freedom or security?

I submit to you that FREEDOM is ALWAYS best.
